Reposting this month's F1KD postings which highlights the fifth topic of the 10 Building Blocks of Nutrition in the First 1000 Day: The right foods introduced to babies at the right times.

Breast milk is the perfect first food for babies from 0-6 months old. It gives them all the energy and nutrients they need during this time. For the best growth, development, and health, babies should only have breast milk for their first six months.

After this period, babies need more than just breast milk to stay healthy as they grow. They should start eating right and nutritious solid foods alongside breast milk until they're at least two years old or even older. The transition from exclusive breastfeeding to family foods, referred to as "complementary feeding", typically occurs between 6-23 months of age.
