Newborn Hearing Screening Reference Center-Region V

Last March 1-3, 2023, the Bicol Medical Center Newborn Hearing Screening Reference Center-Region V together with Bicol Medical Center’s Department of ENT-HNS, joined in the celebration of World Hearing Day with the theme “Ear and Hearing Care for All! Let’s Make It a Reality!”.
For this year’s activity, we targeted selected BMC employees to help promote ear and hearing care as well as honored an NGO that promotes work inclusivity especially to D/HH persons. The event was also attended by participants from the Bicol State College of Applied Sciences and Technology, Cam High SpEd, and Naga Deaf Society.

📍Last April 21, 2022, the BMC-NHSRC-ROV Team conducted a Stakeholders Reinforcement Workshop and Service Delivery Network Meeting in Tinambac District Hospital (one of the hearing machine recipients of CHD-Bicol).

👉This is to enhance the testing skills of certified and non-certified Newborn Hearing Screeners to ensure that the Newborn Hearing Screening process is accurate and correct.

👍Thru this activity, Tinambac Medicare and Community Hospital and Siruma District Hospital (recipients of Cam. Sur Provincial Government) were also taught the process and requirements to become a Category A Hearing Screening Center. They were also taught the importance of Newborn Hearing Screening and why it is done. They were provided with IEC materials that they could use in their facility.

🤝Thanks to the BMC-NHSRC-ROV satellite Cat. A Tinambac District Hospital for hosting this activity. ‼️Ang pagbubuntis ay isang magandang yugto ng kababaihan, dahil ito ay nagbibigay sa kanila ng kagalakan at katuparan sa pamamagitan ng pagdadala ng bagong buhay sa mundo. Ang pagbubuntis ay hindi lamang isang pisikal na pagbabago ng katawan ng babae, ito rin ay isang emosyonal na pagbabago na nag-iiwan ng panghabambuhay na epekto sa kanilang buhay at ganap na nagbabago sa kanilang pananaw. Ngunit, sa kabilang banda, ang pagbubuntis, panganganak at pagdedesisyon upang mabigyan ng magandang kinabukasan ang bagong panganak na sanggol ay patuloy na nagdudulot ng panganib sa mga Pilipinong ina at kanilang bagong sanggol.

👉Upang makamit ang layunin na kung saan ay ang mabilis na pagbabawas ng mga panganib na ito, nagsagawa ng Lakbay Serbisyo: Newborn Hearing Screening and Advocacy Program ang Newborn Hearing Screening Reference Center in Region V- Bicol Medical Center, sa pamumuno ni Dr. Diosdado C. Uy, MClinAUd at Dr. Marifee U. Reyes, MDM. Ang aktibidad na ito ay naglalayong magbigay ng Information Dissemination patungkol sa Maternal and Child Health, Philhealth Enrollment, Family Planning, Importansya ng Pre-Natal Check-up, Cervical Cancer consciousness Awareness, HIV Awareness at Newborn Hearing Screening, noong March 11, 2022 sa Robinsons Place Naga.

👍Daan-daang buntis ang dumalo galing sa Naga City at Minalabac, Camarines Sur, kung saan nag-avail sila ng libreng HIV testing at counseling na ginawa ng mga Medical Staff ng HIV at HACT Core Team. Nakapagtanggap din ng iba't-ibang regalo ang mga buntis mula sa Newborn Hearing Screening Reference Center in Region V, Family Planning Team at Philippine Obstetrical and Gynecological Society, Bicol Chapter, Camarines Sur.

👏Taos pusong nagpapasalamat ang Newborn Hearing Screening Reference Center in Region V (NHSRC-ROV) sa City Health Office na pinamumunuan ni Dr. Vito Borja, Ms. Margaret Barrion (Newborn Hearing Screening and Newborn Screening Coordinator- City Health Office), Mr. Magno Reyes (Head, Barangay Health Workers- Naga City) sa Rural Health Unit ng Minalabac Cam.Sur, sa Philippine Obstretical and Gynecological Society, Bicol Chapter, Camarines Sur (POGS) at sa aming collaborative team: Family Planning/AYRH Unit, Department of OB-Gyne, Department of ENT at HIV/HACT Core Team. Hindi magiging tagumpay ang aktibidad na ito kung hindi dahil sa tulong ninyo.

☝️Sa kauna-unahang Winner na nagmula sa Minalabac, Cam.Sur at ibang pang Candidates ng Bb. Search for Newborn Hearing Screening, Congratulations po! At sa ibang pang nanay na dumalo, sana ay marami kayong natutunan at sana ay ma-eshare ninyo sa inyong mga kakilala at mahikayat sila na kailangan magFamily Planning para maging masaya ang pamilya, importansya ng pre-natal check-up, makapag-enrol sa Philhealth dahil maraming benipisyo ito, magpacervical cancer screening upang malaman kung may cervical cancer upang mabigyan ng agarang lunas, magpaHIV screening upang mabigyan ng maagang gamutan at maibsan ang panganib na maetransfer kay baby ang virus, at higit sa lahat MagpaNewborn Hearing Screening upang malaman kung may problema sa pandinig at mabigyan ng tamang intervention upang sa ganoon maging masigla si baby.

‼️‼️Kaya mga Mommy! nasa kamay ninyo ang kinabukasan ng inyong anak, wag kalimutan na epaNewborn Hearing Screening si baby, dahil ito ay isa sa mga unang hakbang ni baby para sa dekalidad na buhay!
