The Philippines has a high incidence of motorcyle-related brain trauma. Despite the mandatory helmet law which requires riders to wear helmet to reduce risk of brain injury, many still fail to comply. Many victims of brain and spine trauma and other illnesses experience delayed intervention due to limited neurosurgical facilities and specialist.

Fortunately, Dr. Lynne Lucena has been serving the Bicol region and giving specialist neurosurgical care to our kababayan in Camarines Sur, Camarines Norte and Albay for more than 20 years.

She is a multi-awarded neurosurgeon, researcher and leader garnering the Golden Scalpel Award, Barrick Chair Visiting International Award (American Association of Neurological Surgeons), and more recently the Outstanding Filipino Award 2024 (TOFIL).
