We are proud to share a glimpse of Dr. Kathleen Cruz, our Thoracic, Cardiac, and Vascular Surgeon, performing robotic surgery at Brigham and Women’s Hospital.

Dr. Cruz is currently completing her fellowship in Minimally Invasive Thoracic Surgery, honing advanced techniques to bring world-class care back to our community.

We look forward to her return! Dr. Cruz will be ready to serve patients starting August 2026

Lung Cancer ay isa sa top causes ng cancer death sa buong mundo. Pano it nakukuha?

Kung ikaw ay edad 55-80 years old, nanigarilyo ng isang kaha (1 pack) sa loob ng 20 years, nagsisigarilyo pa rin o kaya tumigil ng kulang sa 15 years, nirerekomenda na ikaw ay magpa-screening sa pamamagitan ng low-dose CT scan.

Kung hindi ka man nanigarilyo pero may lung cancer sa pamilya lalo na kung bata pa ang kamag- anak, maalam din na ikaw may magpa-screen for lung cancer.

Marami ngayon sa ating bansa (~70%) ay nasa advanced stage ng lung cancer. Kung maaga makuha ang bukol sa baga, mas mataas ang chance na ang cancer ay matanggal lahat at ang buhay ay mapahaba!

We're incredibly excited to share an update on the dedication and commitment to excellence by one of our own, Dr. Nicole Sacayan - Quitay!

Dr. Quitay is currently completing her prestigious Clinical Research Fellowship in Endoscopic Ear Surgery at the renowned Endoscopic Ear Surgery Center at Ota General Hospital in Kanagawa, Japan, under the mentorship of the globally respected Professor Seiji Kakehata, Dr. Quitay has been immersed in cutting-edge, minimally invasive techniques for treating ear conditions.

Her return is a major win for patient care in the Bicol Region. The skills and knowledge she has acquired in Endoscopic Ear Surgery will significantly improve the quality and standard of ENT-HNS patient care right here in our community.

This is a testament to the power of international fellowship trainings in equipping our local specialists with world-class expertise to better serve our fellow Bicolanos.

The Department of ENT is currently accepting new applicants for the residency program.
