A concerned netizen sent to us a post from a patient expressing frustration about a dental visit. While we respect everyone’s right to express themselves, we feel the need to clarify misinformation and protect both patients and the dental profession for everyone's awareness. 😇

1. Hindi agad bunot ang solusyon. 💯

Dentists always assess if a tooth can still be saved. 𝗧𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗵 𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝗿𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲—𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗴𝗼𝗻𝗲, 𝗶𝘁’𝘀 𝗴𝗼𝗻𝗲. That’s why if a tooth can still be treated and preserved through procedures like root canal treatment (RCT), that option is suggested and prioritized. Pero at the end of the day, decision pa rin ito ni patient.

2. Bakit may antibiotics at pain relievers muna? 🤔

𝗜𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲’𝘀 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗶𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗯𝗲 𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿𝗼𝘂𝘀. Antibiotics and pain management are given first to control the infection before any surgical procedure. This is for the safety of the patient, not extra gastos lang.

3. Root Canal Treatment vs. Bunot – Magkaibang approach. 🆚

• Root canal treatment (RCT): Preserves the natural tooth, allows you to still chew properly, and prevents further complications. Yes, it costs more because it requires specialized skills, tools, and multiple appointments.
• Extraction: Cheaper and faster, but may lead to shifting teeth, bone loss, bite problems, and the need for dentures/implants later—which are far more costly in the long run.

4. Consultation fees 🩺👩‍⚕️

Professional fees are not simply "nagsalita ka lang naman Doc". Every consultation involves proper assessment, diagnosis, and medical responsibility. Dentists spent millions to give you the best health opinion and advice, plus they allot you chair time and consumables during the visit. 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝘀 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝘀𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲𝘀.

Threatening or disrespecting medical professionals is dangerous and unfair. Dentists are here to help, but they cannot compromise your safety just to give in to demands that may harm you in the long run.
