Today is World Rabies Day. This year, we focus on the theme, "Rabies: Facts, Not Fear."

Globally, 59,000 people die unnecessary deaths due to rabies each year. Rabies is a preventable disease through vaccines that protect both humans and animals.

This year's theme compels us to break myths and misconceptions about rabies and focus on efforts that contribute to rabies elimination.

By eliminating misinformation about rabies, especially rabies vaccines, we also eliminate fear among ourselves and our communities.
