TWO YEARS AGO TODAY, WE GATHERED for a CAUSE BIGGER than OURSELVES 💙💚❤️

Today, we remember a beautiful evening that sparked something powerful —
the Charity Ball for the Initiative.

It was not simply a social event.
It was a declaration.

A declaration that sudden cardiac arrest should not mean certain loss.
A declaration that our city deserves access to life-saving tools.
A declaration that preparedness is a shared responsibility.

Because of that night, AEDs were installed in key areas.
Because of that night, awareness expanded.
Because of that night, lives today stand a better chance tomorrow.

But our work is not finished.

We continue to find ways to install more AEDs across our community.

HOME & FAMILY: Prevent Accidental Poisoning at Home

Many homes unknowingly create danger zones — especially under the kitchen or bathroom sink. These areas are convenient for adults, but very accessible to children, pets, and even curious guests.

Here’s how we can keep our homes safe:

🚫 Common Risky Habits
• Storing cleaning chemicals under the sink without safety locks
• Transferring chemicals into unlabeled bottles (or worse, drink containers 😬)
• Leaving pesticides, bleach, or solvents within reach
• Mixing chemicals without knowing their reactions

Simple Ways to Prevent Accidental Poisoning:

✅ Store chemicals up high or locked
Use cabinets with child-proof locks. Under-the-sink storage should never be open-access.

✅ Never remove original labels
Labels contain critical safety information. If you must transfer, clearly label the container — big, bold, and obvious.

✅ Never use food or drink containers
No soda bottles. No water jugs. No reused cups. This is one of the most common causes of poisoning.

✅ Keep chemicals out of sight, out of reach
If a child or pet can see it, they can reach it.

✅ Separate chemicals from food items
Never store cleaning agents near cooking supplies or pantry items.
