The Catanduanes Government, through the Provincial Health Office (PHO), conducted a two-day training on May 5โ6, 2025, to expand the use of the DigiHealth Automated Telehealth Machine (ATM) across all municipalities and provincial hospitals.
Previously used by the PHO, the DigiHealth ATM is now being deployed to local health units and hospitals to improve access to diagnostic services, particularly in remote areas. The Clinical Management System Training was held at the Provincial Capitol Dome and attended by municipal health officers, IT professionals, and representatives from Eastern Bicol Medical Center and Juan M. Alberto Memorial District Hospital.
This initiative is part of the provinceโs ongoing commitment to Universal Health Care (UHC), equipping healthcare workers and IT personnel from the 11 municipalities with the knowledge and skills necessary to operate the DigiHealth ATMs effectively.
The DigiHealth ATM is a user-friendly, data privacy-protected device capable of conducting health check-ups, vital signs monitoring, blood tests, and other diagnostics. It can process over 50 clinical parameters, with results available in five to seven minutes.
Virac was selected as the pilot municipality for deployment. On the first day of the training, midwives and nurses from the Virac Rural Health Unit participated in hands-on sessions. Participants from the remaining municipalities and hospitals completed their training on the second day.
The activity was conducted in partnership with DigiHealth Specialists, led by CEO Joyce Socao, Engr. Marvin Dela Cruz, and Mr. JM Alumno.
