Bandl's Ring sign during labour is NOT a good sign.

Bandl’s ring is an abnormal constriction (tight ring) that forms between the upper and lower parts of the uterus during prolonged or obstructed labor.

⚠️ Why does it happen?
It usually occurs when:
Labor is prolonged
The baby cannot pass through the birth canal (e.g., cephalopelvic disproportion)
The uterus is contracting strongly but the cervix/lower segment isn’t allowing delivery

🚨 Why is it dangerous?
Bandl’s ring is a serious warning sign because it can lead to:
Uterine rupture (life-threatening)
Fetal distress
Maternal complications

👀 How is it recognized?
Sometimes seen as a visible ridge across the abdomen
The mother may have severe pain
Labor is not progressing despite strong contractions

🏥 What is the management?
It is an obstetric emergency
Usually requires urgent C-section to save both mother and baby

💡 Simple way to remember:
If labor is strong but baby is not coming, and a “ring” appears → think danger.
