The ASEAN Youth Day, celebrated on August 8, promotes regional cooperation among young leaders. In the Philippines, Linggo ng Kabataan, mandated by Republic Act No. 10742, is typically held in August, coinciding with National Youth Day on August 12. These dovetailed celebrations present a strategic platform in order to amplify youth engagement and advocacy efforts.

ETDMH Celebrates National Hospital Week 2025 with Health, Service, and Unity

Hinoba-an, Negros Occidental — Eleuterio T. Decena Memorial Hospital (ETDMH) joined the nationwide observance of National Hospital Week 2025 with the theme “HOSPITAL: A Healthy Workplace for All sa Bagong Pilipinas” from August 4–8, 2025.

The week-long celebration featured a motorcade, Hospital Olympics, health campaigns, and sports events, all aimed at promoting wellness and camaraderie among staff. ETDMH also led a coastal clean-up drive at Barangay Pook in partnership with CPSU, BFP, PCG, Maritime, PNP, and MENRO, emphasizing community service and environmental care.

The festivities concluded with the Culmination and Awarding Ceremony, graced by former Chief of Hospital Dr. Jiji Lucille Felicitas D. Verzosa, and a fellowship dinner that strengthened bonds among colleagues.

Through these activities, ETDMH reaffirmed its commitment to building a healthy workplace and connected community in line with the vision of Bagong Pilipinas.

❗️1 SA 5 NA NAMAMATAY NA PLHIV AY DAHIL SA TB❗️

Mas mataas ang posibilidad na magka-TB ang isang PLHIV dahil sa mahinang immune system. Kapag hindi naagapan, maaaring magdulot ito ng malubhang komplikasyon na posibleng humantong sa kamatayan.

Ang HIV at TB co-infection ay maiiwasan sa pamamagitan ng regular na TB screening, tuloy-tuloy na pag-inom ng antiretroviral therapy (ART), at paggamit ng Tuberculosis Preventive Treatment (TPT).

ETDMH Champions Nutrition Awareness with LGU Hinoba-an

The Eleuterio T. Decena Memorial Hospital (ETDMH) proudly joined the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Hinoba-an in celebrating the 51st National Nutrition Month. This year's theme, "Food at Nutrition Security, Maging Priority! Sapat na Pagkain, Karapatan Natin!", emphasizes the fundamental right to nutritious food and highlights the importance of prioritizing food and nutrition security.

On July 21, 2025, ETDMH participated in the culmination event held at the Pagbana-ag People’s Activity Center. The event featured various activities, including:

-Zumba Dance Competition: Promoting physical activity and healthy lifestyles
- Nutrition Gallery Exhibit: Showcasing the importance of nutrition and healthy eating habits
- Mascot Contest: Engaging the community in a fun and interactive way to promote nutrition awareness

ETDMH's participation demonstrates its commitment to promoting health and nutrition in the community. Representing the hospital were Chief Nurse Mrs. Leah L. Mocon, Nutritionist-Dietitian Mrs. Maila D. Rosadia, Social Welfare Officer Ms. Princess Mae R. Calumpang, and several dedicated hospital staff.

The celebration emphasizes that ensuring food and nutrition security is a collective responsibility. Families, schools, businesses, and communities must work together to ensure access to safe and nutritious food for all.

By championing nutrition awareness and promoting healthy lifestyles, ETDMH and LGU Hinoba-an strive to build a society where nutritious food is available, accessible, and affordable for all.
