As part of her training, Ms. Glydel Ortiz, a Master of Psychology clinical intern from SPUP, visited LINGAP Center and Women and Children Protection Center in the City of Ilagan. These centers, under the supervision of PSWDO - Provincial Government of Isabela provide temporary protection and psychosocial support to abused, neglected and deprived children in Isabela.

This activity provides an opportunity to observe children’s behavior, conduct interviews and group activities, familiarize oneself regarding the centers’ services and acquire relevant knowledge and skills in the psychology field.

We sincerely thank all the staff for their continued support in our internship program!

As a way of advancing our center’s mental health practice and services, Ms. Charibel Matalang, owner and psychologist, attended a two-day onsite conference organized by CogniCare Psychological Center. This year’s theme is “Advancing Mental Health Across Practice, Education and Innovation”.

This activity gathered Filipino mental health practitioners and professionals for insightful discussions, networking opportunities and expert-led workshops.

Among the renowned lecturers were Dr. Glenn Garino, PAP President, Dr. Sheila Hocson, former PGCA President and other experts in the field of counseling and psychology.

This conference surely helped us in continuously shaping quality, client-focused psychological and counseling services.

This journal entry is from a Grade 11 student, male, only child, who decided to leave school for a while and attend regular therapy sessions due to family problems. His parents are separated, mom is working abroad and he lives with grandparents and aunt. Now he’s excited to go back to school on June and continue achieving his goals despite personal difficulties.

Asking for help is not something shameful. Let us normalize therapy. 💚

A beautiful way to start the month of March! 🙏💛
