Today, we send off our Clinical Interns with our warmest wishes as they step into the next chapter of their journey, this time, as future mental health professionals.

This may be the end of your internship, but it marks the beginning of a greater calling: the commencement of a lifelong mission to serve others through compassion, empathy, and clinical excellence. You are now stepping into a profession that demands not only skill and knowledge but also integrity, humility, and heart.

As part of our ongoing commitment to mental health advocacy, we were honored to be invited as resource speakers for Project Hilom by DepEd-Isabela, held at Regional Science High School Tumauini, Isabela. The seminar brought together faculty members, non-teaching staff, and student leaders for a timely and impactful discussion on the topic: “𝓦𝓸𝓻𝓴𝓹𝓵𝓪𝓬𝓮 𝓒𝓱𝓪𝓵𝓵𝓮𝓷𝓰𝓮𝓼: 𝓜𝓪𝓷𝓪𝓰𝓲𝓷𝓰 𝓪𝓷𝓭 𝓓𝓮𝓪𝓵𝓲𝓷𝓰 𝔀𝓲𝓽𝓱 𝓓𝓲𝓯𝓯𝓲𝓬𝓾𝓵𝓽 𝓑𝓮𝓱𝓪𝓿𝓲𝓸𝓻𝓼 𝓲𝓷 𝓽𝓱𝓮 𝓦𝓸𝓻𝓴𝓹𝓵𝓪𝓬𝓮.”

We explored practical strategies for conflict resolution, stress management, and cultivating psychological safety, because a healthy workplace starts with healthy relationships.

This week, our dedicated On-the-Job Trainees took a significant step in their clinical journey by engaging in hands-on practice through 𝓢𝓽𝓻𝓾𝓬𝓽𝓾𝓻𝓮𝓭 𝓛𝓮𝓪𝓻𝓷𝓲𝓷𝓰 𝓔𝔁𝓹𝓮𝓻𝓲𝓮𝓷𝓬𝓮𝓼 (𝓢𝓛𝓔𝓼). As part of their training, they conducted a group process session with clients from the Women and Children Protection Center, focusing on providing a safe, empathetic, and supportive space for healing and empowerment. This experience helped our trainees enhance their communication, facilitation, and psycho-educational skills in a real-world clinical setting.

In addition, our very own resident psychologist, Dr. Kathreen Joson, led an insightful demonstration on the𝓦𝓮𝓬𝓱𝓼𝓵𝓮𝓻 𝓐𝓭𝓾𝓵𝓽 𝓘𝓷𝓽𝓮𝓵𝓵𝓲𝓰𝓮𝓷𝓬𝓮 𝓢𝓬𝓪𝓵𝓮 – 𝓕𝓸𝓾𝓻𝓽𝓱 𝓔𝓭𝓲𝓽𝓲𝓸𝓷 (𝓦𝓐𝓘𝓢-𝓘𝓥). Dr. Joson walked the trainees through the process of administering, scoring, and interpreting this gold-standard cognitive assessment tool. The demonstration emphasized ethical test administration, clinical observation, and how to derive meaningful insights from test results to inform psychological diagnoses and interventions.

OJ Fortune Psychological Services was established on February 25, 2016, the first psychological center in the heart of Isabela - Ilagan City. It aims to empower individuals in constructively connecting with self, people and community and be equipped with coping skills in dealing with life adversities.

The center is composed of a team of experienced and trained Registered Psychologists, Registered Guidance Counselors and Psychometricians who are motivated to work with diverse people in need of psycho-social support. We conduct our services at an affordable fee, upholding the ethical and technical boundaries of our profession.
