In support of the National Deworming Program, the City Health Office II, Ilagan City successfully conducted the Deworming Kick-Off Activity at San Pedro Integrated School on February 6, 2026.
The activity aims to protect school-aged children from intestinal parasitic infections that may affect their growth, nutrition, and academic performance. Through the administration of safe and effective deworming tablets, learners were given an added layer of protection to ensure they stay healthy, active, and ready to learn.
Health personnel, in coordination with school officials and teachers, facilitated the proper distribution of the medication while also providing a short health education session. Pupils were reminded about the importance of proper handwashing, wearing slippers, maintaining clean surroundings, and practicing good hygiene to prevent reinfection.
The successful kick-off highlights the strong collaboration between the health and education sectors in promoting the well-being of children in the community. With continued support from parents, teachers, and local leaders, the deworming program serves as a vital step toward building a healthier and brighter future for every learner.
Together, we move forward in safeguarding the health of our children โ because a healthy child is a better learner. ๐
