WHAT IS N.E.A.T.?

Non-exercise activity thermogenesis, or N.E.A.T., is a fancy name to describe the calories burned from all of the movement you do during the day that is not exercise, and it can make a big difference in your fat loss program. Examples of N.E.A.T are cooking, shopping, walking, and gardening. The energy burned doing things that are NOT sports or exercise.

Your metabolism is always working to burn energy. During periods of higher activity, your body will burn more calories than when you are at rest. But even at rest, your body is always expending energy.

📊 Alam niyo ba?

🍜 Filipino diet alert: instant noodles, tocino, chicharon, canned meats—sobrang sodium ‘yan!

🪑 Sedentary lifestyle? Lagi sa desk, long hours sa cellphone o binge-watch? Dapat may movement breaks.

Monday Stress Management "12S"

📌SPEAK TO ME: talk to someone when you feel overwhelmed or unable to deal with stress on your own. Venting can help you unload unwanted feelings.

📌SOUNDS AND SONGS (MUSIC): listen to relaxing and soothing music. It can relieve depression and increase self-esteem.

📌SENSATION TECHNIQUES (MASSAGE): indulge yourself with a whole body massage. It helps to soothe away stress unknotting tense and aching muscles, relieving headaches and sleep problems.

Stanford researchers have unveiled a revolutionary medical tool nicknamed the “milli-spinner,” designed to remove brain clots in stroke patients with astonishing precision. Unlike traditional methods that often risk breaking the clot into dangerous fragments, this tiny corkscrew-like device gently rotates and extracts blockages intact. In initial clinical trials, it achieved a 90% success rate on the first attempt—significantly improving outcomes for patients who otherwise faced severe brain damage or death.

This innovation could redefine emergency stroke treatment, reducing the critical time window from symptom onset to intervention. With strokes affecting over 15 million people globally each year, the milli-spinner offers new hope in high-risk scenarios where every second counts. Researchers are now pushing for wider adoption and FDA approval, aiming to roll it out in major hospitals within the next two years.

❌ VA**NG KILLS

- Medical professionals are sounding the alarm about a serious and potentially permanent lung condition increasingly linked to va**ng. Commonly referred to as “popcorn lung,” or bronchiolitis obliterans, the disease damages the smallest airways in the lungs, leading to coughing, wheezing, and shortness of breath that can worsen over time.

The nickname “popcorn lung” originated from cases reported in workers at microwave popcorn factories who were exposed to the chemical diacetyl—once commonly used to create buttery flavors. Although diacetyl has been banned in some products, studies have found it in certain flavored e-cigarettes and v**e liquids.

Experts warn that long-term inhalation of these substances can cause lasting harm to the lungs. Unlike other lung issues that may improve with treatment, popcorn lung is irreversible and has no known cure—only symptom management.

Public health officials are urging v**ers, especially young people, to reconsider their use of e-cigarettes, as research continues to uncover the long-term effects of inhaling vaporized chemicals.

“This is not just harmless water vapor,” one pulmonologist said. “We’re seeing real, permanent damage in otherwise healthy individuals.”

❌ NO TO VA**NG

Tandaan ang EVALI o E-cigarette or V**e Use-Associated Lung Injury.
