Dr. E Veterinary Clinic and EC Petcare Veterinary Clinic successfully completed our Annual Team Building and Summer Break last April 13–14, 2026, held at Cliffside Villa, Tubajon, Laguindingan.

Our head veterinarian, Dr. Miko, completed the 2-day Philippine College of Veterinary Surgeons – Companion Animals (PCVS-CA) Veterinary Surgery Masterclass with the theme “Mastering Surgical Skills for Modern Veterinary Practice,” held on March 26–27, 2026, at Novotel Manila Araneta City, Quezon City.

Case Summary: Lemon – Survivor of Urinary Stone Obstruction, Leptospirosis, and Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) 🐶🏥

Lemon, a 3-year-old male Beagle, was brought to our clinic due to persistent dribbling and difficulty in urination. Upon presentation, our team conducted a thorough physical examination, followed by comprehensive diagnostic tests, including CBC, a leptospirosis test, blood chemistry analysis, SDMA (Symmetric Dimethylarginine) test, and radiography.

Radiographic findings confirmed the presence of multiple small urinary stones causing obstruction. Given the urgency of the condition, an emergency pre-scrotal urethrostomy was successfully performed by Dr. Miko to relieve the blockage and prevent life-threatening complications.

Post-operatively, Lemon was confined for five days under close monitoring and supportive care. He responded well to treatment and was eventually discharged with prescribed medications and home care instructions.

After several weeks of continued treatment at home, Lemon returned for follow-up showing remarkable improvement. His surgical site is healing well, and his overall condition has significantly progressed—reflecting his strength and resilience throughout recovery. 💛💙

🐱🩺 Successful Treatment of Uterine Prolapse in a Cat 🩺🐾

Sky, a female cat, was brought to Dr. E Veterinary Clinic after experiencing uterine prolapse following the delivery of her kittens. This condition occurs when the uterus turns inside out and protrudes outside the body after giving birth. It is a serious and life-threatening emergency that requires immediate veterinary attention.

Our veterinary team promptly performed a thorough assessment and provided the necessary medical and surgical management to correct the prolapse and stabilize the patient. Thanks to timely intervention and proper care, the procedure was successful. After a week of treatment at home, Sky has recovered well, and her kittens are growing healthy.

This case highlights the importance of seeking immediate veterinary care when complications occur after giving birth. Early treatment can make a life-saving difference for our beloved pets. 💛💙

Case Summary: Oreo – Urinary Stone Removal 🐶🏥

Oreo, a 5-year-old, male, Corgi mixed dog, was brought to our clinic due to difficulty urinating. Upon arrival, a complete physical examination was performed, followed by diagnostic tests including CBC, blood chemistry, and radiography.

The X-ray revealed the presence of a large urinary stone causing obstruction. To prevent further complications and safeguard Oreo’s life, an emergency cystotomy was performed by Dr. Miko and Dr. Vaughn to remove the stone.

Following surgery, Oreo underwent four days of medication and close monitoring. He responded well to treatment and has now been discharged as an outpatient, continuing his medications at home. Oreo is recovering steadily, and we are happy to see him on the road to full health. 💛💙
