The Philippine Red Cross – Iligan City Chapter celebrated World Water Day yesterday with 179 students from Abuno Elementary School and Tipanoy Elementary School.

Anchored on the 2026 World Water Day theme, “Where water flows, equality grows,” the activity highlighted the importance of water conservation, proper hygiene, and access to safe and clean drinking water empowering young minds to become advocates for a healthier and more sustainable future.

Hygiene Promotion & Distribution of Hygiene Kits

On March 10, 2026, the Philippine Red Cross Iligan City Chapter conducted a Hygiene Promotion and Distribution of Hygiene Kits for 1,062 students of Tambacan National High School.

The activity aimed to raise awareness on the importance of proper hygiene practices in preventing illnesses and promoting a healthy school environment. Students actively participated in the hygiene promotion session, where they learned essential practices such as proper handwashing and maintaining personal cleanliness.

After the session, hygiene kits were distributed to all 1,062 students, equipping them with basic items to help them practice good hygiene in their daily lives.

Promoting health and hygiene among young learners.

The Philippine Red Cross – Iligan City Chapter, in partnership with Procter & Gamble, successfully conducted a Hygiene Promotion and Kit Distribution for elementary learners in Iligan City.

A total of 792 hygiene kits were distributed at Tubod Elementary School and 355 kits at Miguel Obach Elementary School. Each kit contained essential hygiene items such as Ariel detergent powder, Safeguard soap, Vicks VapoRub, and Head & Shoulders shampoo.

Prior to the distribution, 18 Red Cross Youth volunteers conducted a Hygiene Promotion session with the learners, highlighting the proper handwashing technique and the importance of maintaining good personal hygiene to prevent illness.

Through education and the provision of hygiene essentials, the Philippine Red Cross continues to empower children to practice healthy habits.

71 individuals from Purok Bernales, Brgy. Tipanoy were given free health services by volunteers and staff of PRC-Iligan

PRC’s Health Caravan was made possible by the support of all our partners and individual donors of Typhoon Basyang affected communities.

The Philippine Red Cross-Iligan City Chapter conducted a training on the Management of the Dead and Missing (MDM) last Jan. 21 and Jan. 25, 2026.

Management of the Dead and Missing (MDM) is a humanitarian process that ensures people who die during disasters, armed conflicts, or other emergencies are handled with dignity and properly identified, while efforts are made to locate and account for missing persons. It includes the respectful recovery and documentation of human remains, identification through appropriate methods, and the safe return of remains to families. At the same time, it involves tracing services, information gathering, and coordination with authorities to help families learn the fate and whereabouts of their loved ones.
