Welcome to Ilog
The municipality of Ilog is a second class municipality in the Southern part of Negros Occidental. The town was founded in May 16, 1584 making it one of the oldest settlements in the island of Negros. It is comprised of 15 barangays (villages) with close to around 60,000 people residing the town. It is the town adjacent to Kabankalan City which is a 3-hour drive from Bacolod City.
Its Main Health Center is located in the Poblacion area near the Municipal Covered Court. It is a one-story building which houses the Public Health Offices, a birthing clinic, dental clinic, a laboratory and a medical clinic. It is open on weekdays from 8am to 5pm. But the birthing center is open 24 hours a day every day. With the hiring of the new municipal health officer, the main health center is also undergoing a lot of changes and improvements. It is expected that the Main health center will be “paperless” and will adopt an electronic medical record system by the end of 2019. By the end of 2023, it is aimed that the main health center will also be expanded to provide more spaces and offices for other public health programs. We expect also that the health facility will be tagged as an adolescent friendly facility by the end of 2020. The facility will be undergoing major improvements to make sure that every patient will receive quality care and will be treated as VIPs because every Ilognon deserves a world class quality of health care service.
All barangays have one barangay health station each. Dancalan Health Center houses the municipality’s TB DOTS Center. It also has a birthing clinic. Other barangay health stations are currently undergoing renovations in order to establish their own birthing clinics. There is one dental bus which can go to far flung barangays for dental consultations and other services.
