Iloilo City is categorized as UNHEALTHY air quality, everyone may begin to experience health effects; members of sensitive groups may experience more serious health effects. Current ๐๐๐น๐ณ๐๐ฟ ๐ฑ๐ถ๐ผ๐
๐ถ๐ฑ๐ฒ (๐ฆ๐ขโ) levels are measured at ๐.๐๐ ๐บ๐ด/๐บยฒ, with prevailing winds blowing from ๐๐จ๐ซ๐ญ๐ก-๐๐จ๐ซ๐ญ๐ก๐๐๐ฌ๐ญ at ๐-๐๐ ๐ค๐ฉ๐ก, reducing the likelihood of SOโ directly affecting Iloilo City at this time.
Additionally, volcanic ashfall hazards remain a concern. Ashfall can cause eye irritation, respiratory issues, and skin irritation, as well as contaminate water supplies, disrupt electrical systems, and damage buildings and vehicles. Accumulated ash can also lead to the closure of airports and roads. In areas closer to the volcano, pyroclastic density currents (PDCs)โfast-moving flows of hot gases and volcanic debrisโpose significant risks to safety and infrastructure.
Residents are advised to stay updated through trusted local news sources and disaster risk reduction and management (DRRM) offices. Follow instructions from local officials and continue to protect your eyes, mouth, and nose until ash has settled and been thoroughly cleaned up. Individuals sensitive to air pollution or respiratory issues should limit outdoor exposure and wear protective masks if necessary.โ
