TO ALL STAKEHOLDERS OF THE WESTERN VISAYAS MEDICAL CENTER

Subject: Beware of Scam Calls Impersonating Hospital Officials, Particularly the Medical Center Chief

The Western Visayas Medical Center (WVMC) issues this public advisory to alert the public and our valued partner suppliers about fraudulent activities involving individuals impersonating hospital officials—particularly personnel from the Office of the Medical Center Chief—to solicit money or financial assistance.

A recent report from one of our accredited suppliers revealed that a caller, using the mobile number 0919-343-0596, falsely identified himself as a staff member of the Medical Center Chief’s Office and attempted to solicit money under false pretenses.

Please be advised that WVMC officials and employees are strictly prohibited from soliciting or requesting any form of financial favor, donation, or monetary assistance through personal calls, text messages, or other unofficial communication channels.

We urge all stakeholders—especially our suppliers and partner organizations—to remain vigilant and verify the authenticity of any such communication before taking any action.
If you receive suspicious calls, text messages, or emails claiming to represent the hospital or its officials, do not engage or respond. Instead, immediately report the incident to any of the following offices:
