Western Visayas Medical Center (WVMC) conducted a press conference on December 3, 2025 to officially relaunch the WVMC Crisis Center Hotline, a dedicated mental health and su***de prevention hotline aimed at providing immediate support to individuals experiencing emotional distress. This initiative underscores WVMC’s strengthened commitment to promoting mental health and ensuring that help is accessible to anyone in crisis.
Through the support and partnership of various media outlets, WVMC aims to widen public awareness about the availability of this lifesaving service. With effective information dissemination, more individuals—especially those who may be silently struggling—can be reached and encouraged to seek assistance. The Crisis Center Hotline operates 24/7, and calls are handled by trained and compassionate personnel who are equipped to provide psychological first aid, crisis intervention, and appropriate referral to specialized services when needed.
WVMC upholds its responsibility not only to safeguard the mental well-being of its employees but also to serve the wider community. With the increasing number of mental health-related concerns, including su***de cases, the institution recognizes the urgent need for accessible and reliable support systems. The relaunch of the hotline is WVMC’s proactive response to the community’s call for help, ensuring that no individual feels alone during moments of vulnerability.
WVMC reiterates that help is always available, and that reaching out is a sign of strength. The institution remains dedicated to listening, understanding, and assisting every person who seeks support—because every life matter, and even one life saved is a profound and meaningful achievement.
