Dr. Roland Uy warmly welcomed to Iloilo his former mentor, Dr. Edward C. S. Lai—a distinguished surgeon and pioneer in minimally invasive surgery and laparoscopy—under whom he trained during his fellowship at Queen Mary Hospital, Hong Kong, in the early 1990s.

Now in the Iloilo to pursue his passion for photography, Dr. Lai and his wife find inspiration in the vivid colors, rich culture, and dynamic scenes of the Dinagyang Festival. More than two decades since their last meeting, this reunion celebrates a lasting professional legacy and the enduring impact of mentorship across generations.
