As we leap into another year, we are proud to announce that the Western Visayas Medical Center – Department of Internal Medicine has been granted a five-year training accreditation by the Philippine College of Physicians.

This milestone would not have been possible without the unwavering dedication and leadership of Dr. Lavernie Jacobo, Chairman of the Department, together with our Training Officers, Dr. Rhea Ann Celis and Dr. Veniperl Guillar.

We also extend our deepest appreciation to our consultants, Medical Officers IV, and residents, whose commitment, perseverance, and teamwork made this achievement possible.

United by a shared vision of excellence, the department continues to move forward—strengthening training, advancing academic growth, and, most importantly, delivering compassionate and high-quality patient care.
