The Iloilo City Anti-Smoking Taskforce, in collaboration with The Association of Respiratory Care Practitioners of the Philippines and TobaccOff, held an Anti-Smoking and Anti-Va**ng Symposium at Jalandoni Memorial National High School, themed: "Smoke-Free Generation: A Symposium for a Brighter and Healthier Tomorrow".

This anti-smoking and anti-va**ng symposium was a timely and important activity for our dear students. It helped them understand the dangers of smoking and va**ng, the long-term effects on health, and the importance of making wise choices at an early age. It also reminded them that saying no to these harmful habits is saying yes to a brighter, healthier future and being role models to others.

“Young people often think smoking or va**ng makes them look grown-up or accepted by friends, but the truth is the opposite. Real strength is in saying no. Awareness means showing the youth that they don’t need these vices to belong or to feel confident. Their true value is in making wise and healthy choices.”

We sincerely thank you to the Faculty, the SSLG members, emcess, the Barangay Officials, Sir John Dave Dataro, Assistant Principal II Ma'am Herma Mamon, and Principal III Ma'am Arlene Joy B. Alonzaga

ICAST in Action!
Students were caught smoking in public areas, which is direct violation of the Anti Smoking/ Anti-Va**ng Ordinance. We want to remind everyone that these laws are in place to protect public health and safety, and yours are included.

Smoking in public places doesn't just affect you; it impacts those around you. including children, the elderly, and people with health conditions. As students, you're expected to uphold the values of responsibility, respect and good citizenship, both in and out of school.

We urge you to take this situation seriously. Repeated violations may lead to legal consequences, and long term health risk. Making responsible choices today can protect your future tomorrow.

Ramon Avanceña National High School Anti-Smoking and Anti-Va**ng Symposium

This Anti-Smoking and Anti-Va**ng Symposium is not only about knowing the dangers of ci******es and v**es, but also about empowering us to make the right choices. The very important reason, health and future.

High school students are in a stage where they face pressure, influence, and curiosity. Some may say smoking or va**ng is “cool” or “trendy,” but the truth is, these habits damage their lungs, weaken their bodies, and even shorten their lives. It may look harmless at first, but it can lead to addiction and serious illnesses later on.

This symposium reminds us that protecting our health is protecting our dreams. When we say NO to smoking and va**ng, we are saying YES to life, to opportunities, and to a future where we can succeed without being held back by addiction.

Dear students, please listen, learn, and share what you gain today. Together, you can create a school and a community that is smoke-free, v**e-free, and full of hope.

Iloilo City Anti-Smoking Taskforce, together with our partner Association of Respiratory Care Practitioners of the Philippines and TobaccOff, holds an Anti-Smoking and Anti-Va**ng Symposium at Holy Rosary Academy.

Today’s symposium is not just another school activity, it is a reminder of how important our health is, and how every choice we make shapes our future. Smoking and va**ng bring harmful effects that damage not only the body of the smoker, but also the health of the people around them.

This symposium gives us the chance to learn the dangers of ci******es and v**es, and more importantly, how we can protect ourselves and our loved ones from these harmful habits. As young people the hope of our country we must remember that saying NO to smoking and va**ng means saying YES to a healthier, stronger, and brighter future.

Our dear students listen carefully to our speakers, participate actively in the activities, and may use this knowledge to encourage others to live smoke-free and v**e-free. Together, we can spread awareness, make the right choices, and inspire change.

Let's all choose a life that breathes health, not smoke.

We sincerely thank you to the faculty, to Sir Pat, and to our dear students.

ICAST - Kids Smoke-Free Storytelling Program (KiSS)

“Children, you are the hope of our country. You are the future leaders, teachers, and helpers of our nation. That is why we must take care of your health today. One way to stay healthy is by avoiding secondhand smoke. Secondhand smoke is the smoke that comes from someone else’s cigarette or v**e. Even if you don’t smoke, breathing in that smoke can still harm your lungs, make you sick, and stop you from playing, learning, and growing strong.

Always remember, your health is your treasure. Protect it, because you are the hope of the country, and we need you strong, smart, and full of life to build a better future.”

The Iloilo City Anti-Smoking Taskforce, with the Association of Respiratory Care Practitioners of the Philippines and To***coff conducted an Anti-Smoking and Anti-Va**ng Symposium at River Plains Integrated School, not just to talk about the dangers of smoking and va**ng, but to remind our dear students of the value of making the right choices for their health and future.

Smoking may look “cool” to some, but the truth is it destroys more than it gives. It harms the lungs, causes bad breath, weakens athletic performance, and can even shorten lives through serious diseases like lung cancer and heart problems. Va**ng, which many think is “safe,” is also harmful—it damages the lungs, affects the brain, and can lead to addiction.

But beyond health, smoking also affects our dreams. Every stick of ci******es is not just burning to***co; it’s also burning away opportunities for the future.

This symposium is not meant to scare our dear students, but to empower them. They have the strength to say NO to smoking and va**ng. The courage to protect not only oneself but also our friends and family from secondhand smoke.

Let this day remind us that the best choice we can make is to live smoke-free. Because when you protect your health, you protect your future.

Thank you, and let’s all commit to being champions of a smoke-free generation

We sincerely thanks to Sir Principal Alex S. Porras, Ma'am Regine Belandres and to the Faculty, thank you our Parents, and to our Police Officers and to our dear students
