A stress test is done in a hospital primarily because it is safer, allows continuous monitoring, ensures immediate access to emergency care, and uses specialized equipment and protocols that are best handled in a medical facility.

Hospitals have emergency equipment (defibrillators, oxygen, emergency carts) and trained personnel (Cardiologists, Cardiac Nurses, Echo Technicians) ready to respond immediately if complications occur.

Some stress tests (like stress echocardiography) require special imaging equipment that is only available in a hospital. If the test reveals something serious, the hospital can immediately do additional tests or admit the patient.
