🏆🏆🏆 WVSUMC DEPARTMENT OF ANESTHESIOLOGY CHAIRPERSON IS PHILIPPINE SOCIETY OF ANESTHESIOLOGISTS (PSA) 10TH MANUEL V. SILAO AWARDEE 🏆🏆🏆

Dr. Marcos D. Bito-onon is the department’s first graduate, finishing his residency training in 1996. Since then, he has served various roles- training officer, department chairperson, and hospital administrator with the following advocacies:
1. Anesthesia manpower by training
2. Anesthesia education, research and innovation
3. Collaboration and community engagement
4. Good citizenship

The PSA Manuel V. Silao Award for Leadership is given to an individual who has demonstrated exemplary attributes of a good leader in the practice of anesthesiology.

Dr. Bito-onon received the award on 28 November 2024 during the 56th PSA Annual Convention at Marriott Hotel, Pasay City, Manila. He is the current Chairperson of the Department of Anesthesiology and the Assistant Hospital Director for Medical Service of West Visayas State University Medical Center.
