Rajah Community Center

Rajah is a fitting complementary to the FPOP Iloilo logo – the shield, demonstrating as an aegis of the community. The organization is a group of diverse volunteers, community influencers, peer educators and health care providers. It is also open to innovations, in which its pilot projects (e.g., After 5 Clinic, the Proxy Consent and the Community Based Screening) are braved and not feared – a sign of Rajah conquering the wide horizon. More successes are bound to happen to FPOP Iloilo, including the launch of self-screening with social networking, and the roll-out of HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP).

FPOP Iloilo is a community-based organization whose advocacy and programs cater to the needs of the marginalized. It is a safe space for the underserved and mostly ostracized members of the society. As a frontrunner in the sexual and reproductive health in the city, the organization mainly provides HIV testing and sexually transmitted infection (STI) screening to males-having-sex-with-males (MSMs) and pregnant women as well as their partners as part of their ante-natal care. It also recognizes the needs of the youth, particularly the adolescent minors, to have access to free HIV testing services. In addition, the organization serves the community of transgender women, who now have access to hormone therapy services and counseling.

FPOP is supported by its local and international partners, national and local agencies and facilities that provide resources, technical assistance and services. This made the organization achieve its Rajah status for both its members and the community – a true Rajah in blood and handwork.
