In the middle of our busy days caring for patients, sometimes we are reminded to pause… and reflect.

On March 6, 2026, the staff of Metro Iloilo Hospital and Medical Center, Inc. gathered at the Ancillary Hall for a meaningful Lenten Recollection, a quiet moment to step away from the demands of our work and reconnect with our purpose.

The reflection reminded us that healthcare is more than treatment and procedures. It is compassion, patience, understanding, and the willingness to serve others even in their most vulnerable moments.

As we continue our journey through this Lenten season, may this time of prayer and reflection renew our hearts and strengthen our commitment to care for every patient with empathy, humility, and hope.

Creating safe spaces for conversations about mental health is more important than ever, especially for our young people.

On March 5, 2026, the staff of Metro Iloilo Hospital and Medical Center, Inc. gathered at the Ancillary Hall for an insightful orientation on “Addressing Mental Health Issues Among Children & Adolescents.” The session was led by our guest speaker, Dr. Mary Ann Joy G. Aguadera, who shared valuable perspectives on recognizing early signs of mental health concerns and supporting the emotional well-being of children and adolescents. The orientation was hosted by Dr. Darren R. Reyes.

Through discussions and shared experiences, the orientation strengthened our collective commitment to providing compassionate, informed, and patient-centered care, especially for the younger members of our community.

At MIHMCI, continuous learning helps us better understand the needs of our patients and ensures we are equipped to support their health not only physically, but emotionally as well.

Behind every number on the scale is a story, a parent who wants more years with their family, a child who deserves a healthier future, and a person simply trying to feel better in their own body.

Obesity is not just about weight. It is a complex health condition that can quietly increase the risk of serious diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, and certain cancers. More importantly, it affects quality of life, energy, confidence, and long-term well-being.

This World Obesity Day, we are reminded that caring for our health is not about blame or shame, it’s about understanding, support, and taking steps toward healthier lives together. Around the world, communities are coming together to raise awareness, encourage prevention, and improve access to proper care for people affected by obesity.

Every step toward better health matters, whether it’s seeking medical guidance, improving nutrition, becoming more active, or starting a personalized weight management plan.

Your health journey matters.
Your future matters.
And it’s never too early, or too late, to start taking care of yourself.
