September is Su***de Prevention Month β€” a time of healing, hope, and connection. This year, we stand together with the global community under the theme β€œChanging the Narrative on Su***de.” It’s about shifting from silence and shame to openness, compassion, and empathy.

In our college community, let us speak with genuine care, act with understanding, and listen without judgment. β€œHindi ka nag-iisa.” Whether through a sincere question or a quiet moment of presence, you may be the hope someone needs to keep going.

Together, we can:

πŸ’™ Challenge harmful myths and stigma around mental health.
πŸ’™ Encourage open and heartfelt conversationsβ€”even small steps matter.
πŸ’™ Transform our culture into one where every life is valued and supported.

This journey begins with each of us. If you're struggling, please remember: the CAS Guidance Office is here for youβ€”ready to listen, walk with you, and help you find support.

Let’s be part of changing the narrative in our own community. Let’s be voices of empathy, understanding, and hope. πŸ’›

They were the dawn that broke our darkest nights.

Today, we honor the voices that echoed freedom, the hands that built our tomorrow, the hearts that never surrendered.

Theme: β€œIsang Diwa, Isang Lahi, Isang Bayanihan.”
One Spirit, One Race, One Bayanihanβ€”because every hero is a thread in the fabric of our nation, and today, we weave their courage into our lives.

Reflective Question: If your life were a page in history, what act of heroism would you want to be remembered for? Engage with us by sharing it in the comment section.

β€œThe youth is the hope of our future.” – Dr. JosΓ© Rizal

CAS Guidance Weekly Wisdom

Week 2: Mindful Mornings Start the Day Right

Before checking your phone, checking your schedule, or checking on othersβ€”check in with yourself. Mornings can easily become rushed and overwhelming, but they also hold the potential for calm and clarity. Taking even just a couple of minutes to pause creates space to connect with your own needs and intentions.

This simple act can help you move through the day with more focus and less reactivity. By grounding yourself early, you set a positive tone that influences your mindset, mood, and decisions.

Try This Morning Practice:
β€’ Wake up and sit in stillness for 2 minutes
β€’ Ask: β€œWhat do I need today to feel calm and grounded?”
β€’ Breathe, set your intention, and move gently into the day

Remember, how you start your morning often shapes how the rest of your day unfolds.
