What Is a Tongue-Tie (Ankyloglossia)?

Tongue-tie occurs when the tissue connecting the tongue to the mouth (lingual frenulum) is too short or tight, limiting movement.

It may affect:
🔸 Breastfeeding
🔸 Speech
🔸 Oral hygiene

Treatment may involve a simple procedure called frenotomy, if needed.

What Is Adenoid Hypertrophy and Does It Need Surgery?

Adenoid hypertrophy is the enlargement of adenoid tissue at the back of the nose. It can cause:
🔹 Nasal congestion
🔹 Snoring
🔹 Mouth breathing

What Is Ear Barotrauma and How Can I Prevent It When Flying?

Ear barotrauma happens when pressure changes—like during takeoff or landing—damage the eardrum or middle ear.

Prevention Tips:
âś… Yawn, swallow, or chew gum during ascent/descent
âś… If with nasal congestion, you may use prescribed intranasal or oral decongestants.
âś… Try earplugs designed for flying

If you feel severe pain or hearing loss after a flight, consult your ENT.
