Here's how to motivate yourself to get everything done and stop procrastinating on big life goals.
1. Necessary Chores are NOT Negotiable
Laundry? Wash dishes? If you put off your chores until later, you'll either be too tired to do them or you'll end up not doing them. Just do it. Let it be part of your everyday routine so it becomes part of you.
2. Use Positive Self-Talk
You are your best cheerleader. Your leader or your friends or your family will not always be there to encourage you when you need it. It helps to talk to yourself so tell yourself to stop being lazy. Be responsible for yourself.
3. Donโt Sit Down
Get out of your comfort zone. As long as you are not sitting down, you'll be pushed to be productive.
4. Make New Friends
Sometimes the people we surround ourselves with are not helping us grow. That's okay. Continue to love them. But if you want to grow, you have to find people who will help you grow as well.
5. Turn Off the Television or Phone
To keep your focus, you have to get away from things that will distract you. Most of the time, they will be your television or phone. Set a time limit for yourself. For 2 hours straight, you will do your work. After that, you give yourself time to relax (20 to 30 minutes to watch YouTube videos or talk to friends).
6. Turn On the Music
If you are the type of person who gets more productive with music, go ahead! Work while your favorite playlist is on.
7. Schedule Your Day
Before you start your day, you have to know the stuff you are going to do and for how long you'll do each task (cleaning, cooking and eating meals, laundry, etc). When your scheduled time is up, move on to the next item.
