We also extended our thanks to the Provincial PWD Focal Person, SAALI H. HARIL, for sharing valuable insights on disability rights, inclusion, and community support for PWDs.

The person with disability identification card (PWD ID) of individuals diagnosed with permanent disabilities may be soon be valid for life if a proposal to amend Republic Act No. 7277 or the Magna Carta for Disabled Persons is enacted into law.

Bagong Indanan: Sama-Sama sa Pagbabago – PWD Assembly and Leadership Selection

With the support of our Municipal Mayor Hon. Albakil "Thong" D. Jikiri, together with the Municipal Social Welfare Office (MSWO) headed by Norhaima Kulani, RSW, and the Municipal Councilor Hon. Alano Palahuddin, the Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO) successfully conducted the PWD Assembly and Leadership Selection for the 34 barangays of Indanan.

This activity aims to strengthen PWD participation, promote empowerment, and ensure that every barangay has a PWD representative who can serve as their voice in municipal programs and decision-making.

During the assembly, the PWD representatives elected their officers: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Auditor, and PIO, while the rest of the barangay PWD representatives will continue serving as part of the municipal PWD body.

Congratulations to our newly elected PWD officers!
Your leadership marks a new step toward a more inclusive and empowered Bagong Indanan.

This program was made possible through the combined efforts of the MSWO and Municipal personnel, Ma'am Rıza Asakalı, and all supportive partners who helped ensure the success of the event.
