Successful 2-Day Basic Life Support (BLS) Training Amidst Real-Life Emergency Experience 🫀Dated October 9-10, 2025.

We are proud to share the success of our two-day Basic Life Support (BLS) Training conducted by the highly skilled and well-versed trainers from the Provincial Health Office. The activity aimed to equip our 28 selected hospital staff with essential life-saving skills, further strengthening our team’s capacity in responding to emergencies with confidence and competence.

In a remarkable turn of events, the training coincided with the 7.6 magnitude earthquake in Davao, which slightly shook the entire hospital. Despite the unexpected tremor, the session was safely resumed — giving participants a real-life glimpse of emergency preparedness and calm response under pressure.

We also extend our gratitude to our dedicated colleagues from the Initao Rescue Team and hospital safety staff for their active participation and valuable contributions in bringing down all our confined patients along with their watchers for everybody's safety.

This experience truly highlighted our shared commitment to patient safety, teamwork, and resilience in the face of real emergencies. Congratulations to all participants for your dedication and professionalism!

📌 MOPH-Initao Quarterly Meeting

The MOPH-Initao successfully held its Quarterly Meeting today with a well-structured program covering various key areas:

✅ Administrative Updates – Administrative Officer, Ma’am Rhona Ann C. Cuadra, RN, MAN, led the discussion on essential administrative matters supported by Dr. Iris B. Ratunil, RN, MD, MPSM and ma'am Miraluna N. Ramos, RM, RN, MN - hospital's Chief Nurse.

✅ Recognition – Presentation of Certificates was given to the dedicated Rapporteurs and Resource Speakers of the consecutive BCSTW sessions, honoring their valuable contributions.

✅ Knowledge Sharing – The OR/DR Complex staff delivered an informative lecture on Sexual and Reproductive Health tackling STD due to unprotected s*x.

✅ Nursing Service Meeting – The program concluded with focused discussions on High Alert Medications facilitated by the Pharmacy staff during the Nursing Service meeting.

The event highlighted both administrative efficiency and continuous professional development, underscoring MOPH-Initao’s commitment to quality healthcare service.

We joyfully celebrated the Feast of our dear patron - St. Padre Pio de Pietrelcina with a Eucharistic Celebration presided over by Rev. Fr. Lourdesio Armstrong P. Balacuit, SSJV.

In the spirit of love and compassion, we brought various foods being shared together with those who attended the Holy Mass. Our devoted parishioners also shared blessings by bringing and sharing their foods with us and generously distributed rice packs to our hospitalized patients — a simple yet meaningful act of care inspired by the saint’s example of charity and faith. ❤️🍚🎉

May St. Padre Pio continue to intercede for us, bringing healing, hope, and peace to every heart. 🌹🙏

World Patient Safety Day 2025 🧡
In celebration of the regionwide observance of World Patient Safety Day with the theme “Patient Safety from the Start,” our hospital reaffirmed its commitment to provide safe and quality care, most especially for infants and children.

📌 Morning Activity – OPD Area
👩‍🍼 Conduct of Ante-Natal Buntis Class focusing on:

Breastfeeding and lactation management
Importance of Newborn Screening and Newborn Hearing Test for early detection of congenital anomalies for new-born babies

📌 Afternoon Activity – Ward Class
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Patient, watcher, and family education on:

Supporting safe care for children

Staying safe while receiving care

Delivering safe care for children

Keeping care safe for every child

Through these activities, we continuously strengthen our advocacy for patient safety, honoring this day with concrete actions that promote awareness, education, and safe practices in healthcare.
