Launching of Ultrasound Machine Service
August 12, 2025

A big leap for healthcare in Initao! We proudly launched our Ultrasound Services at the Super Health Center in Kamelon, made possible with the support of Municipal Mayor Mercy Grace Acain, our hardworking SB Members, barangay officials, our dedicated MHO Dra. Sarah Jane Lagamon and DTTB Dr. Aaron Paolo Roa, together with RHU Initao. This milestone brings essential diagnostic services closer to our people, saving time, effort, and expenses.

As of the moment, we cater basic ultrasound services such as pregnant mothers for prenatal care, patients with abdominal and thyroid concerns for proper monitoring and early detection. To avail this service, simply visit your Barangay Health Center for a check-up. Patients will be scheduled by doctors only through referrals from their Barangay Health Centers. This is to ensure proper assessment before your ultrasound appointment.

With this, we hope more of you can take a proactive step in looking after your health — because sometimes, the answers we need are just one scan away. 🫰🏻

TULAY Co-Session Design 2
July 24, 2025

We, together with TULAY Project, held another meaningful TULAY Co-Session for Post-Stroke Patients, bringing together survivors, caregivers, and health staff for a day of connection and empowerment. The session included group activities and open discussions focused on the physical, mental, and emotional aspects of stroke recovery, reminding each participant that healing is not a solo journey.

Beyond the support circles, we also worked together in creating strategies for digital media outreach, brainstorming how to spread awareness about the TULAY Program to more stroke survivors and families. From crafting messages to identifying platforms, the group actively contributed ideas to help extend our reach, especially to those who may still feel alone in their recovery.

This session was more than just a gathering, it was a reminder that rebuilding lives happens not just in clinics, but in conversations, collaboration, and shared purpose. Each voice matters. Each story helps build the bridge.

Philhealth Profiling and Registration
for Senior Citizen

From June to mid-July 2025, the RHU Initao successfully rolled out PhilHealth Profiling and Registration for Senior Citizens across all 16 barangays of Initao. This effort was designed to ensure that every eligible senior is accounted for and properly registered—paving the way for easier access to healthcare services and PhilHealth benefits when they need it most.

With the help of barangay officials and our dedicated health staff, we reached out to elderly residents in both coastal and upland areas, assisting them in verifying their membership, updating their information, and answering questions about their coverage. It was more than just data collection—it was about strengthening their connection to health support systems they rightfully deserve.

To all our lolos and lolas: we don’t just want you covered—we want you seen, heard, and taken care of.

Steps Toward Better Health!

On July 30, 2025, the RHU Initao led a successful outreach activity. They handed slippers for the children of Sinalac and Tagpaco Elementary Schools, in partnership with the generous NGO Mendoza Family. Students received new pairs of slippers to protect their feet as they walk to school daily: an essential step toward preventing infections and promoting personal hygiene, especially in rural areas.

We also celebrated Nutrition Month during the visit by conducting a short yet engaging health lecture on the importance of proper hygiene and nutrition. Children learned the value of keeping their bodies clean and eating healthy meals to stay strong and focused in school.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Sinalac and Tagpaco Elementary School, the Mendoza Family, and all the health workers who made this initiative possible. This program is part of RHU Initao’s continuing mission to bring basic health services, education, and community care closer to every child and family. 💚

The Rural Health Unit of Initao successfully brought PuroKalusugan to Barangay Pontacon, offering days of accessible, community-based health services for all ages. This initiative aims to bring essential healthcare closer to every purok, especially in remote areas, ensuring that no one is left behind when it comes to health and wellness.

Services provided during the activity included blood pressure monitoring, blood sugar testing, nutritional assessment, immunizations, deworming, maternal and child health consultations, and health education sessions. We also conducted home visits for those unable to attend, proving our commitment to reaching every resident with compassion and care.

Bloodletting Activity
July 3, 2025

On July 3, 2025, a successful Bloodletting Activity was held at Initao College, Jampason, Initao, gathering over 117 voluntary blood donors from the community. This life-saving event was made possible through the collaboration of LGU Initao, RHU Initao, Amai Pakpak Medical Center, and Initao College, working hand-in-hand to promote the spirit of volunteerism and the importance of regular blood donation.

The activity not only aimed to replenish blood supply for those in need but also raised awareness about how one donation can save multiple lives. Students, faculty, and residents came together in unity, showing compassion and selflessness. Health professionals ensured a smooth, safe, and well-organized process, making the experience fulfilling for both first-time and regular donors.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our brave and generous donors who took the time to give the gift of life. Your one bag of blood could mean a lifetime for someone else. We encourage everyone: be a hero in your own way—donate blood whenever you can.
