Doc may Bakuna ba ang MPox?

Yes meron na dati pero wala pa dito sa Pinas.

🧬 Ang Bakuna sa Mpox ay Galing sa Smallpox Vaccine

Alam mo ba?
Ang bakuna na ginagamit para sa Mpox (Monkeypox) ay originally ginawa para sa smallpox!

✅ Bakit ito gumagana?
• Pareho kasing Orthopoxvirus family ang smallpox at mpox.
• Kaya kahit hindi specifically para sa mpox ginawa, may cross-protection ang smallpox vaccine laban sa mpox.

💉 Mga Karaniwang Bakuna Laban sa Mpox:
1. JYNNEOS (a.k.a. Imvanex or Imvamune)
• Live vaccine na hindi dumadami sa loob ng katawan.
• Mas safe lalo na para sa immunocompromised.
2. ACAM2000
• Mas lumang version ng smallpox vaccine.
• May mas maraming side effects, kaya hindi ito usually ang first choice para sa mpox.

👥 Sino ang dapat magpabakuna?
• Mga taong na-expose sa mpox.
• Health workers at lab personnel na may risk.
• High-risk individuals, lalo na kung may outbreak sa lugar.

As of May 2025, wala pa pong officially approved na mpox (monkeypox) vaccine sa Pilipinas. Ayon sa Department of Health (DOH), hindi pa available ang mga authorized mpox vaccines para sa public use dito sa bansa.
