Basilan Medical Center has successfully completed the licensing evaluation for its License to Operate (LTO) as a Level I Hospital, following the recent inspection conducted by the Regulations, Licensing and Enforcement Division (RLED) of the Department of Health – Zamboanga Peninsula Center for Health Development (DOH-ZPCHD) on July 15, 2025.

Under the leadership of our dedicated Medical Center Chief, Dr. Sitti Nurussamsi Amilasan, BasMC remains steadfast in its mission to deliver compassionate, patient-centered care while upholding the regulatory standards set by the Department of Health.

This achievement reflects not only our compliance but also our continuous drive for improvement. The hospital is actively working toward upgrading its facilities and services, with the goal of applying for Level II hospital by the end of the year—equipped with a Tertiary Clinical Laboratory and a Level II Imaging Facility.

The leadership and staff of Basilan Medical Center are united in working diligently to turn this vision into reality and to provide the people of Basilan with enhanced and comprehensive healthcare services they truly deserve.

Basilan Medical Center warmly welcomed the visit of Congressman Yusop Alano on July 09, 2025. During his visit, he met with Medical Center Chief Dr. Sitti Nurussamsi Amilasan to discuss the ongoing development of BasMC in line with Republic Act No. 12056.

The meeting included a presentation of the hospital’s development plan, highlighting key areas for upgrading such as infrastructure, medical equipment, manpower, and service delivery. Congressman Alano expressed his support for the hospital’s full transition into a fully operational medical center and shared potential legislative initiatives that could further strengthen BasMC’s institutional capacity.

Following the meeting, Congressman Alano, together with Dr. Amilasan and members of BasMC's management committee, conducted an on-ground visit to gain a deeper understanding of the current setup and progress of the hospital’s wards, buildings, and facilities.

Basilan Medical Center (BasMC), led by Dr. Abigail Yu, Pediatrician Medical Specialist-II in collaboration with the DepEd Isabela Nurses headed by Ms. Mary Joy Luzon, made a courtesy visit to Superintendent Maria Laarni Villanueva of Isabela City Schools Division.

This meeting marks the start of preparations for the upcoming Nutritional Assessment Activities targeting Kinder to Grade 6 learners! 👧🧒

The initiative aims to promote early detection and management of health conditions through comprehensive assessments on:
