In compliance with Department Memorandum No. 2025-0236, dated May 23, 2025, and in response to the anticipated peak of dengue cases during the upcoming rainy season, all local government units, partner agencies, and private institutions are hereby urged to ๐—ถ๐—บ๐—ฝ๐—น๐—ฒ๐—บ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜ ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—”๐—น๐—ฎ๐˜€ ๐—ž๐˜„๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ฟ๐—ผ ๐—ž๐—ผ๐—ป๐˜๐—ฟ๐—ฎ ๐— ๐—ผ๐˜€๐—พ๐˜‚๐—ถ๐˜๐—ผ ๐—–๐—ฎ๐—บ๐—ฝ๐—ฎ๐—ถ๐—ด๐—ป ๐—ณ๐—ผ๐—ฟ ๐——๐—ฒ๐—ป๐—ด๐˜‚๐—ฒ ๐—ฃ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ ๐—–๐—ผ๐—ป๐˜๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐—น.

With the unpredictable rainy weather, the risk of mosquito breeding sites has significantly increased, posing a serious threat to public health. Hence, we must remain proactive in our efforts to eliminate potential breeding grounds. This initiative is a crucial step in strengthening regional measures to control dengue and reduce the prevalence of mosquito-borne diseases.

As part of this initiative, all government offices, including the LGUs, schools, and universities, are encouraged to adopt and intensify the following strategies:

All Local Government Units (LGUs) are encouraged to reinforce daily synchronized source reduction and clean-up drives in all barangays, particularly in dengue hotspot areas.

Institutionalization of clean-up drives and dengue awareness activities among schools, colleges, universities, and TESDA-accredited institutions. Government and private organizations are also enjoined to participate and observe the 4 oโ€™clock habit within their premises.

Development and dissemination of targeted and localized IEC materials to increase awareness on dengue prevention, as well as the promotion of the DOH Alas Kwatro Kontra Mosquito Campaign. Communication efforts may include posting and sharing of social media cards, advocacy campaigns, educational sessions, and community-based activities.

Sa gitna ng patuloy na maalinsangang panahon at sa sunod-sunod na naitalang High Heat Index sa ibaโ€™t ibang bahagi ng rehiyon, pinapaalalahanan ng Department of Health Eastern Visayas Center for Health Development (DOH-EVCHD) ang publiko ukol sa mga panganib sa kalusugan na dulot ng labis na init gaya ng Heat Stroke at iba pang Heat-Related Illnesses. Para sa kaligtasan ng iyong sarili at pamilya, maging maalam sa mga paraan kung paano maiiwasan ang mga health risks na ito.

Kadalasan, ang heat stroke ay sanhi ng mainit at maalinsangan na panahon, matagal na pagkalantad sa ilalim ng araw, pag-eehersisyo/pagtratrabaho sa gitna ng mainit na panahon, at dehydration. Gayunpaman, may mga maagang sintomas na maaaring tutukan ang heat stroke upang ito ay agarang maagapan. Ilan dito ay ang sakit ng ulo, pagkahilo, pagsusuka, panghihina ng katawan, pamumutla, mataas na lagnat (higit sa 41ยฐC), pagkawala ng malay, at mabilis na tibok ng puso.

1. Limitahan ang oras ng pananatili sa labas.
2. Ugaliing uminom ng sapat na tubig para maiwasan ang dehydration.
3. Iwasang uminom ng tsa-a, kape, softdrinks, at alak.
4. Gumamit ng sombrero/payong at magsuot ng magaan/maluwag na pananamit
kung saka-sakaling lalabas ng bahay.
5. I-iskedyul ang mga gawain ng mas maaga o sa dulo ng hapon. (Sa mga oras na
mas mababa ang temperatura)

Maging handa. Maging ligtas. Iwasan ang sakit ngayong tag-init.
