We proudly participated in the 𝟐𝟕𝐭𝐡 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐥𝐲 of the Philippine League of Government and Private Midwives, Inc. (PLGPMI) held last April 15–17, 2026 at The Forum, Philippine International Convention Center (PICC), Pasay City, with the theme “𝑺𝑻𝑨𝑵𝑫 𝑻𝑨𝑳𝑳: 𝑴𝒊𝒅𝒘𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒔 𝒂𝒔 𝑯𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒕𝒉 𝑺𝒆𝒓𝒗𝒊𝒄𝒆 𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒗𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒓𝒔 𝑨𝒎𝒊𝒅𝒔𝒕 𝑨𝒅𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒊𝒕𝒚.”
Attended by JLMC’s senior midwife Maria Jean Jayco Mallari and Ms. Chelsea Jayco Mallari, the event brought together midwives, policymakers, and healthcare leaders in the country to strengthen maternal and newborn care.
Key updates included good governance and ethical leadership in midwifery, work-life harmony for women in service, the latest WHO guidelines on postpartum hemorrhage, evidence-based care for pregnancy and newborn screening, gender-responsive and family planning approaches, climate-resilient maternity care, digital health and tele-midwifery innovations, and policy directions on PhilHealth and Universal Health Care.
We are proud to have been part of this wonderful event, and we look forward to sharing these updated practices and insights with our community, ensuring that mothers, babies, and families benefit from safer, more compassionate, and evidence-based care.
