GUNITA: Capturing Architecture Through Film
A Short Film Competition
"Balangkas: Stories Built from Lines”
Concept:
Every line drawn by an architecture student carries intention, purpose, and emotion. This theme celebrates the journey of creation — from concept to construction, from idea to identity. Architecture is more than design — it’s the story behind every line.
GUIDELINES AND MECHANICS
1. The contestants should be bona fide UAPSA-ASU members.
2. All entrants (director, scriptwriter, crew, videographer, editor, and others) must be STUDENTS currently enrolled in Aklan State University, Bachelor of Science in Architecture, to join the said competition.
3. There should only be ONE (1) Entry per section.
4. The VIDEO must follow the THEME and SUBJECT which is “BALANGKAS: STORIES BUILT FROM LINES”
5. VIDEO must at least be TEN (10) minutes long but not longer than FIFTEEN (15) minutes in duration, excluding opening and closing credits.
6. The GENRE is not limited to what type of production it will be, whether it is comedy, drama, slice-of-life, musical, etc., however, it is HIGHLY DISCOURAGED to show politics, extreme violence, blood, crime, and controversial issues.
7. Entries must be an ORIGINAL PRODUCTION, however, they may refer to some existing film or movie scenes or parodies.
8. MUSIC used should be protected under copyright law.
9. VIDEOS NEED NOT be in English however, English subtitles is highly encouraged.
10. Video resolution should be at least 720p (1280x720), with a 25 fps frame rate.
11. Any type of video camera or DSLR camera capable of filming may be used. Animation and computer graphics are also permitted.
12. The COMPETITION PERIOD starts on November 10, 2025, and ends on November 24, 2025.
13. The video must not be viewed publicly before the end of the competition.
14. The final copy of the VIDEO entry must be submitted no later than November 24, 2025, at 11:59 PM.
15. All VIDEOS received on the above-mentioned deadline will be part of the competition. Teams who fail to submit their videos by the deadline will be disqualified to join the competition but their VIDEO will still be included in the public screening.
16. The judging period will be from November 25, 2025 to November 27, 2025, and the FILM SHOWING will be on November 28, 2025, during the ARKI NIGHT.
17. The film adjudged as the WINNER will receive a cash prize, which will be formally presented during ARKI NIGHT.

Creativity and Originality - 20%
Production Value - 15%
Acting Performance - 15%
Scriptwriting - 15%
Engagement - 10%
