Strengthening Resilience: 3rd Year Students Attend Seminar on Mental Health and Practicum Success

On September 26, 2025, the 3rd Year students participated in a seminar entitled “Building Resilience: Mental Health Strategies and Practicum Success.” The activity aimed to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to strengthen their mental well-being as they prepare for the demands and challenges of their upcoming practicum.

The seminar highlighted practical strategies for managing stress, developing coping mechanisms, and fostering resilience. Resource persons shared insights on balancing academic requirements with personal wellness, emphasizing the importance of self-care, emotional regulation, and positive mindset in ensuring professional growth and success in practicum experiences.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our distinguished resource speaker, Ma’am Liz Diane A. Malanguis, RGC, for generously sharing her expertise and insights during the seminar.
Her meaningful discussion and practical strategies have greatly inspired and equipped our 3rd Year students with valuable knowledge in fostering resilience, maintaining mental wellness, and preparing for the challenges of their practicum.

PEER FACILITATORS TRAINING

Theme: Recognizing and Supporting Students at Risk for Su***de – A Guide for Peer Facilitators

Our Peer Facilitators Society recently completed the first session of training focused on recognizing students at risk for su***de and providing appropriate support.

Anchored on the principle that “we cannot give what we do not have,” the training emphasized the importance of self-care and resilience among peer facilitators. By strengthening their own well-being, participants are better prepared to extend meaningful care to their peers.

"I realized that being a Peer Facilitator doesn’t mean we have to give therapy or decide for others. It’s more about being approachable, dependable, and willing to listen. We are like an extension of the Guidance Center, reaching out to students who may need support—not only inside the school but even outside, where challenges continue." - Cyrine Joy B. Mansueto BPA

We would like to express our gratitude to Ma’am Liz Diane A. Malanguis, RGC, our resource speaker, for sharing her insights with us. Her comforting words during the emotional parts of the activities really left a mark on every Peer Facilitators.

We extend our appreciation to all peer facilitators who took part in this meaningful initiative. Your commitment plays an essential role in fostering a safe, supportive, and compassionate environment for all students. 💙

LOW MAN OR HIGH SCORE, PROUD GIHAPON MI NIMO!!! 🫶🏻💗

Hello Ka-Peer and KCASTIANs , as we began checking our exam papers—whether we receive a lower score than expected or a higher one— let us not forget to give credit to ourselves. While the result may be disappointing, it can serve as a reminder to work harder, put in more effort, and pursue improvement. One exam does not define our ability or our future; rather, it is a reflection of our present effort and this is one of our stepping stones that will lead us closer to success. May the color of our exam booklet— pink— remind us that in softness there is strength: the strength to not give up and to step towards growth. For those who gained higher scores, may that be the challenge for you to maintain your dedication and to continue striving for excellence and may this be an inspiration for others that perseverance and determination truly pay off. Low or high, we, the PFS family are proud of all KCASTIANs , for each result shows effort and that is what matter the most.

GOOD JOB , KA-PEER AND KCASTIANS!! 🫶🏻✨

EXAM WEEK NA HOY‼️

Have you ever told yourself these lines;

" Magbago nagyud ko , mag study najud ko karon nga sem "

" Scroll sako kadiyot kay mag batak nako study unya"

" Humanon sa nako ni nga episode kay sugod nako unya "

— and suddenly it's an hour later , you just laugh and convince yourself " Ay, taas pa bitaw ug oras " and end up going to sleep and before we all know , the exam day is tomorrow. We've all been there and what's disappointing is that deep down we all know that it's not good, that it will affect our grades and we just allowed ourselves to end up regretting.

College life is full of distractions from your peers — especially to our ka- boarding house who keeps on saying " RG ta " " Tanaw ta movie " that our " Study ko karon " turns to " Sige, dula sa ta " or " Unsa na movie ?" and of course, there's our very own strongest enemy — ourselves—who keeps on scrolling through social media , letting time slip away until we lose the motivation to study.

But , this is a reminder for all that procrastination may comfort us now , but, it will double our stress later. The key is to start in small things — open the file , read one page after another , and start writing. Those small steps will help to build our motivation and eagerness to study.

May we never forget why we're in college — for our family and for our dreams. As we are in our exam week, let's use our time wisely and prepare, because in every page we read and the notes we write it will brings us closer to the future we've been dreaming for.

GOODLUCK , KA-PEER AND KCASTIANS! 🫶✨
