National Womenโs Month 2026 : Capability Building and Recognition Program
โ I AM WOMAN, OF COURSEโฆโ
The tradition continues! KMH once again proudly celebrates this yearโs Womenโs Month by honoring remarkable women who have made meaningful contributions to society. This year, we shine a special spotlight on our Barangay Health Workers and Barangay Nutrition Scholars, whose compassion and invaluable service have elevated health and nutrition at the grassroots level. BHWs and BNSs are the backbone of community care, delivering essential health services, championing disease prevention, and improving family and child nutrition through education and regular monitoring. They walk even through impassable areas just to check on their communities. There is truly no limit to what women can accomplish. These women exemplify courage, commitment, dedication and are truly deserving of honor.
Last March 13, 2026, 40 BHW and 20 BNS from across Kasibu were invited to KMH to celebrate their resilience and unwavering commitment to service. The event featured meaningful and engaging lectures on Communication Skills in Health Education and Community Engagement, R**e Law and Child Marriage, and the Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC) Act. Esteemed guest speakers enriched the sessions by sharing real-life experiences, essential knowledge, and actionable guidance, empowering participants to excel further in their vital roles within the community.
Our first speaker is Dr. Rowena M. Constantino, the President of the Philippine Pediatric Society, Northeastern Luzon Chapter. Dr. Constantino tackled Communication Skills in Health Education and Community Engagement, highlighting the importance of empathetic, and culturally sensitive communication to help health workers build trust and effectively share important health information, especially when addressing sensitive or complex topics.
Our second speaker, Atty. Mae-Ann B. Pilpil, Public Prosecutor of Nueva Vizcaya, discussed the AntiโR**e Law of 1997 and Republic Act No.11698, which prohibits child marriage. She explained how these laws safeguard the rights of women and children by protecting them from abuse and exploitation. Atty. Pilpil addressed the difficulties victims often face in seeking justice and reporting abuse, and stressed the importance of knowing oneโs legal rights. Her talk encouraged everyone to support victims and raise awareness, so communities can better prevent violence and uphold the rights of all.
The third speaker is Dr. Ma. Carla Lucia M. Torralba, Provincial Human Resource Management Officer. She discussed the Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004 from a practical perspective. Dr. Torralba also stressed the need for communities to recognize warning signs of abuse, know where to seek help, and support victims in accessing their rights and available services.
The event became even more meaningful as everyone had the chance to sit together and share lunch with the staff and speakers. Our talented KMH staff also performed an intermission number joined by the Resource Speakers adding warmth and joy to the occasion. To close the event, we expressed our heartfelt gratitude by presenting certificates and tokens to both the speakers and honorees.
Womenโs Month reminds us that honoring women shouldnโt be limited to just one month. Every day is a chance to listen to womenโs stories, uplift their voices, protect their rights, and nurture their dreams. Real appreciation means seeing the women around us for the unique strength and warmth they bring to our families, communities, and nation.
