#𝗞𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗻𝗞𝗻𝗼𝘄𝘀 𝗘𝗽𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗱𝗲 𝟰: “AIDS” | Ang Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS) usa ka kondisyon diin grabe na ka-ubos ang resistensya sa lawas tungod sa HIV. Tungod niini, dali matakdan ang tawo ug mga sakit sama sa TB, pulmonya, diarrhea ug uban pa.

Niadtong Disyembre 1, nagsaulog kita sa World AIDS Day — usa ka adlaw sa paghinumdom, pagpasalig, ug pagpasidungog sa tanan nga apektado sa HIV ug AIDS.

Ania ang pipila sa mga impormasyon kabahin sa AIDS — aron mas masabtan nato ang tinuod ug malikayan ang sayop nga impormasyon ug malikayan ang diskriminasyon ug stigma.

The Kawayan Primary Care Facility, in cooperation with the Biliran Provincial Health Office successfully conducted the World AIDS Day Celebration and Candlelight Ceremony with the theme “Overcoming disruption, transforming the AIDS response.”

The activity was attended by Punong Barangays, SK Chairpersons, members of the Local AIDS Council, and employees of the RHU and LGU, showing strong community solidarity and commitment to HIV awareness and prevention.

Dr. Nathaniel Borromeo, BPH Chief of Clinics and HIV/AIDS Core Team Physician, delivered the keynote message, emphasizing the importance of continued support for the HIV/AIDS Program despite ongoing disruptions.
Mr. Hector Mundala, DMO IV, delivered the Department of Health’s message, while Vice Mayor Jake Espina shared a heartfelt message of support on behalf of the LGU.
Program updates, trends, and statistics were presented by Mr. Eduard Estroso, strengthening everyone’s understanding of the current HIV situation.

A solemn candlelight ceremony followed the messages, with this year’s theme song, “Heal the World” by Michael Jackson, reminding us of hope, compassion, and collective responsibility.
In closing, Dr. Christine Balasbas, Municipal Health Officer, delivered a message of commitment, reaffirming the LGU’s dedication to a resilient and transformative AIDS response.

Kawayan Primary Care Facility in coordination with the Provincial Health Office and Department of Health conducted an Oral Health Activity for Day Care Children this morning November 28, 2025. This is to strengthen early oral hygiene practices and prevent childhood dental problems.
