Because of the changing lifestyles of people all over the world, with increased consumption of high-calorie, high-fat, and salty foods, along with less physical activity, 𝗼𝗯𝗲𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 is becoming more common, and diseases such as 𝗱𝗶𝗮𝗯𝗲𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝘆𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 are also on the rise. 📈🚨
𝗡𝗼𝗻-𝗮𝗹𝗰𝗼𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗳𝗮𝘁𝘁𝘆 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 (or 𝗡𝗔𝗙𝗟𝗗) is often associated with these maladies. Fatty liver is usually asymptomatic. However, over time, if left undetected and untreated, there is a relatively high risk of developing 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗶𝗿𝗿𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘀 or even 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿. ⚠️
𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐄𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐡𝐲 (or 𝐅𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐲 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐧/𝐅𝐢𝐛𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐧) is a non-invasive medical imaging technique that measures both the fat content and the stiffness, or degree of fibrosis, of the liver. Basing on the results of the liver scan, appropriate preventive measures can be taken, whether the patient needs lifestyle changes alone or requires more urgent medical treatment, to halt or prevent the progression of fatty liver into liver cirrhosis or even liver cancer. 🛑
