🌟 KNCHS Celebrates Drug Abuse Prevention and Control (DAPC) Week 2024! 🌟

With the theme “Prioritizing Health-Based Approach in Drug Abuse Prevention and Control,” our school hosted a series of activities to promote awareness and empower students to lead a drug-free lifestyle.

Highlights of the event included inspiring messages from our leaders, simultaneous lectures on Life Skills, Mental Health, and Drug Abuse Prevention, and meaningful discussions with partners from PNP, NACPHIL, and BJMP.

KNCHS-SHS conducted the following activities:
⭐Room-to-Room Drug Abuse Prevention Campaign
⭐Distribution of Leaflets
⭐Anti-Drugs Symposium
⭐Laro Kontra Droga
⭐Guhit Kontra Droga

Together, we are building a stronger, healthier, and more informed community. 💙 Let us continue to stand united in the fight against drug abuse!

🌍Global Handwashing Day 2024: Clean Hands for a Healthier Future! 🌍

In celebration of Global Handwashing Day, students at KNCHS JHS take part in promoting the importance of proper handwashing as a key step to health and hygiene. By practicing regular handwashing with soap and clean water, we protect ourselves and our community from the spread of diseases.

Special thanks to the Caregiving students for participating and to Sir Gary Jamison-HT III, HE Department Head, for leading this special event!

🌍 Global Handwashing Day 2024 🌍
🧼 Clean Hands, Healthy Lives! 🧼

Did you know that simply washing your hands with soap can prevent diseases and save lives? On October 15th, let’s come together to raise awareness and promote the importance of hand hygiene!

💡 Why Handwashing Matters
Proper handwashing is one of the most effective ways to prevent the spread of infections, including common colds, flu, and more serious illnesses. It’s especially important in schools where germs can spread quickly.

🧴 When to Wash Your Hands:
✅ Before eating or handling food
✅ After using the restroom
✅ After coughing or sneezing
✅ After playing outside or engaging in sports
✅ Whenever they feel dirty

🧼 5 Steps to Wash Your Hands Properly:
1️⃣ Wet hands with clean water
2️⃣ Apply enough soap to cover all hand surfaces
3️⃣ Scrub for at least 20 seconds (don’t forget to follow the 7 steps of handwashing!)
4️⃣ Rinse thoroughly with water
5️⃣ Dry with a clean towel or air dry

This simple act can make a big difference in our school community. Spread the word and encourage everyone to make handwashing a habit! Together, we can keep our school clean and healthy. 🙌

🎉 Yesterday, October 1, 2024, we officially launched the 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥-𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐅𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 at KNCHS-JHS! 🎉

We are excited to begin this meaningful journey of promoting the health and well-being of our students through proper nutrition and support. The program aims to improve the nutritional status of our beneficiaries, ensuring that they are healthy, focused, and ready to achieve their academic goals.

Special thanks to our supportive school head, 𝑺𝒊𝒓 𝑽𝒂𝒍𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒏 𝑪. 𝑫𝒊𝒈𝒏𝒂𝒅𝒊𝒄𝒆, 𝑱𝒓. - Principal IV, our dedicated SBFP Coordinator, 𝑴𝒂’𝒂𝒎 𝑴𝒆𝒔𝒂𝒏 𝑴𝒂𝒓𝒄𝒐𝒔, our School Administrator, 𝑴𝒂’𝒂𝒎 𝑪𝒍𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒅𝒂 𝑴𝒂𝒈𝒂𝒏𝒂, 𝑴𝒂’𝒂𝒎 𝑱𝒖𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒄𝒆 𝑴𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒆 𝑴𝒂𝒃𝒂𝒍𝒐𝒕 our Prefect of Discipline, and to our faculty and staff. This morning, the KNCHS-JHS School Health Section participated in the commemoration of World Su***de Prevention Day held at the KNCHS Audio Visual Room.

With insightful discussions given by Mr. Gideon Bayona, RPm of the Department of Health Region XII, the event focused on raising awareness about mental health, su***de prevention, and offering support to those in need. Together, we are committed to breaking the stigma, spreading hope, and reminding everyone that no one is ever alone in their struggles. 💙

Let’s continue to advocate for mental health awareness and work together in creating a community where support is always available.

Meeting with Cooperative-Managed Canteen Operators

We have successfully concluded another meeting with the coop-managed canteen operators last September 9, 2024.

The canteen operators were oriented with the following:
☑️ DepEd Order no. 08, s. 2007 Revised Implementing Guidelines on the Operation and Management of School Canteens ni Public Elementary and Secondary Schools

☑️DepEd Order no. 13, s. 2017 Policy and Guidelines on Healthy Food and Beverage Choices ni Schools and DepEd Offices

The discussions were productive and focused on ensuring that our canteens operate in compliance with national standards, prioritizing the health and well-being of our students.

Signing of the Memorandum of Agreement was also done.

Thank you to all the canteen operators for their active participation and commitment to providing safe and nutritious food for our learners.

Together, we continue to work towards a healthier school environment! 🌟
