In line with the observance of the National Autism Consciousness Week, the Benguet Provincial Health Office will be conducting a series of "au-some" activities aimed at promoting awareness, understanding, acceptance, and inclusivity for individuals on the autism spectrum.

On 𝗝𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝟮𝟳, the PHO will offer 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗶𝘀𝗺 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 at the PHSO & MP Building, BeGH Compound, La Trinidad, Benguet.

𝗟𝗧 𝗛𝗘𝗔𝗟𝗧𝗛 𝗢𝗙𝗙𝗜𝗖𝗘 𝗙𝗘𝗔𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗘𝗦 𝗙𝗥𝗘𝗘 𝗛𝗘𝗔𝗟𝗧𝗛 𝗦𝗘𝗥𝗩𝗜𝗖𝗘𝗦 𝗨𝗡𝗗𝗘𝗥 𝗣𝗛𝗜𝗟𝗛𝗘𝗔𝗧𝗛

Dr. Antonette Agpas, Health Services Office head, sheds light on the Yaman ng Kalusugan Program (YAKAP) and Guaranteed and Accessible Medications for Outpatient Treatment (GAMOT), PhilHealth’s free primary care services during this morning’s flag-raising ceremony.

She expounded that YAKAP includes primary care check-ups, laboratory tests, medications, and screening tests in accredited facilities like the Rural Health Unit located in barangay Puguis.

On the other hand, GAMOT provides 75 types of free essential medicines up to ₱20,000 annually per member.

According to the latest PhilHealth advisory, there is one GAMOT pharmacy in La Trinidad, Kamimura Botika (both branches in Tiong San Km. 4, Pico and JC141 Km. 5, Pico).

That said, the Health Services Office is well prepared and anticipates PhilHealth’s GAMOT implementation within the first quarter of 2026.

Mayor Roderick Awingan encouraged all constituents to apply for PhilHealth membership or update their accounts and register in their localities to avail of these free benefits.

For services not included in YAKAP and GAMOT, the municipal government has corresponding policies through the User’s Fee Ordinance of 2025.

Dr. Jennifer Valenzuela, Development Management Officer IV from the Provincial DOH Office, was also present to personally thank the LGU for its support and implementation of these programs.

Both programs under PhilHealth are aligned with the Universal Health Care (UHC) Law, which was signed in 2019, and is a health system reform which allows all Filipinos access to quality health care without financial hardship.
