Ang self-affirmation o mga salitang pagpapatibay sa sarili ay parang mental na angkla para sa mga bumbero. Sa mga sitwasyong mataas ang tensyon kung saan bawat segundo ay mahalaga, ang mga ito ay tumutulong mag-ayos ng isipan at pokus, nagbibigay-daan upang pakalmahin ang sarili.

Bukod dito, pinapaunlad ng self-affirmation ang pagkalinga sa sarili na nagiging daan upang mas lumakas ang pagtutulungan at maka-kapwang gawain. Sa pamamagitan ng pagbabalik-tanaw sa iyong mahahalagang pagpapahalaga o values at paggawa nito bilang personal na mantra, lumilikha ka ng bukal ng lakas na maaari mong sandalan sa oras ng emerhensiya o anumang krisis.

Narito ang ilang halimbawa ng mga salitang pagpapatibay sa sarili na maaari mong gamitin o pagkunan ng inspirasyon:

Take a moment to reflect on how you can practice self-care both on and off duty. Here are a few ideas to get started:
