Self-care includes practical steps to improve your health and well-being, no matter how small they seem. While on station standby, something as simple as enjoying a cup of coffee while reflecting on the good things that happened earlier in the day can help foster a positive mindset. โ˜•๐ŸŒฑ

Take a moment to reflect on how you can practice self-care both on and off duty. Here are a few ideas to get started:

๐ŸŸข Aim for at least 2.5 hours of physical exercise each week;
๐ŸŸข Choose and follow a healthier, well-balanced diet;
๐ŸŸข Check in with your mental health regularly; and
๐ŸŸข Cut back on or quit alcohol, to***co, and other vices.

BFP-CAR has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with Benguet State University (BSU) on May 30, 2025 to provide free mental health services to its uniformed and non-uniformed personnel.

This partnership addresses the heightened risk of firefighters developing post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, depression, and other mental health concerns due to the demands of their service and the limited access to mental health resources.

Under the agreement, BFP-CAR personnel will receive free mental health interventions from BSU. In return, BFP-CAR will provide fire safety services, assist in student internships, and support research initiatives. The partnership not only promotes the well-being of firefighters but also strengthens BSUโ€™s academic and community engagement.

By recognizing the critical need for mental health care among frontline responders, BFP-CAR and BSU affirm their shared commitment to accessible and professional mental health support.
