Isinagawa ng Lal-lo Rural Health Unit (RHU) sa pangunguna ni Dr. Maria Concepcion B. Abbang
katuwang ang mga RHU staff ang “HELOW RHU” sa Barangay Rosario ngayong araw.

Ang nasabing programa ay naglalayong maihatid ang mga pangunahing serbisyong pangkalusugan sa bawat komunidad, lalo na sa mga malalayong barangay.

Nagpasalamat naman ang Barangay Rosario sa patuloy na pag-abot ng RHU sa kanilang lugar at tiniyak ang suporta ng komunidad sa mga programang pangkalusugan ng bayan.

Ang HELOW RHU ay patuloy na iikot sa iba’t ibang barangay ng Lal-lo upang matiyak na ang serbisyong medikal ay tunay na abot-kamay ng bawat Lal-loqunio.

LOOK || Provincial Health Office Conducts FHSIS Monitoring
October 14, 2025

The Provincial Health Office (PHO) of Cagayan conducted its Field Health Services Information System (FHSIS) Monitoring at the Lal-lo Rural Health Unit (RHU) today to assess the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of health data reporting and ensure the continuous improvement of local health information systems.

The monitoring activity aimed to evaluate how the RHU collects, records, and submits health data in accordance with the FHSIS standards.

Municipal Health Officer Dr. Maria Concepcion B. Abbang and RHU personnel welcomed the PHO team and expressed appreciation for the valuable insights shared during the activity.

Through this initiative, the Lal-lo RHU reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement in the delivery of quality health services to the people of Lal-lo.

LOOK || Lal-lo Rural Health Unit Hosts Benchmarking Activity on Nutrition Programs

The Lal-lo Rural Health Unit (RHU) welcomed the Municipal Nutrition Action Officers and representatives from the Province of Apayao today for a Benchmarking Activity on Nutrition led by the Provincial Health Officer I Dr. Jay-Jay C. Roaquin together with Mr. Mayer Max G. Adong Provincial Director – DILG Apayao, showcasing its best practices and successful implementation of local nutrition programs.

The activity aimed to share effective strategies and innovative approaches in promoting proper nutrition, addressing malnutrition, and improving overall community health.

During the visit, participants made a courtesy call to Hon. Vice Mayor Maria Olivia B. Pascual, who warmly welcomed the group and expressed her support for initiatives that promote better health and nutrition outcomes in the municipality.

Meanwhile, Municipal Nutrition Action Officer Dr. Maria Concepcion B. Abbang, together with the RHU staff, presented Lal-lo’s accomplishments and ongoing projects under the Nutrition Program, highlighting initiatives such as feeding programs, micronutrient supplementation, and nutrition education campaigns conducted in schools and barangays.

Following the presentation, the participants proceeded to the Paranum Barangay Nutrition Committee (BNC) Office, where they were given a first-hand look at the barangay’s nutrition programs and grassroots-level implementation.

LOOK || Junior Department Heads Experience Life as Local Leaders: Junior Municipal Health Officer Immerses in Lal-lo Rural Health Unit

As part of the recently conducted Junior Department Heads Program of the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Lal-lo headed by Hon. Mayor Florence Oliver B. Pascual, young leaders were given the opportunity to experience firsthand the responsibilities and challenges of managing various municipal offices.

The Junior Municipal Health Officer (MHO) - Ms. Kaye Obrero of Logac National High School, shadowed Dr. Maria Concepcion B. Abbang, gaining a deeper understanding of how health programs and services are delivered to the community. The experience included observing outpatient consultations, learning about the different health programs such as immunization, nutrition, and maternal care, and others and participating in health promotion and administrative tasks.

During the immersion, “Doc Obrero” witnessed the importance of teamwork among health professionals and how public health efforts play a vital role in ensuring the well-being of Lal-lo residents. The staff of the RHU warmly welcomed the young participant and shared their insights on the real-world challenges of rural health service delivery.

LOOK || Lal-lo RHU Conducts semi annual Program Implementation Review

The Lal-lo Rural Health Unit (RHU) successfully conducted its Program Implementation Review (PIR) today, with the active participation of Ms. Remedios S. Peleo, DMO IV of PDOHO Cagayan and Municipal Health Officer-Dr. Maria Concepcion B. Abbang. The activity gathered the RHU staff to assess the progress, accomplishments, and challenges of various health programs being implemented in the municipality.

The review aimed to strengthen the delivery of health services, ensure efficient program management, and identify areas for improvement in public health implementation. Key discussions focused on performance indicators, service delivery outcomes, and strategies to address gaps in the different Health Programs

During the meeting, Ms. Remedios S. Peleo provided valuable insights and technical guidance to further enhance the RHU’s performance and align local initiatives with the Department of Health’s priorities.

Municipal Health Officer and RHU staff expressed their commitment to continuously improve service delivery and uphold the mission of providing quality and accessible healthcare to all Lal-lo residents.

The Program Implementation Review serves as a vital platform for reflection, collaboration, and strategic planning—ensuring that the health unit remains responsive to the evolving needs of the community.

LOOK || HELLOw BES brings Health Education to Cabayabasan National High School

The Local Goverment Unit of Lal-lo headed by Hon. Mayor Florence Oliver B. Pascual through the Municipal Health Office of Lal-lo headed by Dr. Maria Concepcion B. Abbang, in partnership with the Local youth development Office successfully held the HELLOw BES (Health Education for Lal-lo On Wheels) as part of the “Pammadayaw” - school visit program at Cabayabasan National High School, highlighting the importance of adolescent health, wellness, and responsible decision-making.

The Municipal Health Office team presented an overview of the activity, underscoring the importance of Social and Behavior Change Communication (SBCC) in addressing issues such as adolescent sexual and reproductive health, mental health, HIV and AIDS, sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and nutrition.

The event was further graced by Hon. Florence Oliver B. Pascual who delivered an inspiring message encouraging students to be proactive in protecting their health and well-being.

The day concluded with another open forum, allowing students to voice questions and concerns while receiving expert guidance from health professionals and local officials.

The HELLOw BES initiative demonstrates the commitment of the Lal-lo Rural Health Unit and the Local Government of Lal-lo to bring health education directly to schools and communities, empowering the youth with accurate knowledge and skills to lead healthier and more responsible lives.

TINGNAN || Blood Letting Activity: Win Life , Donate Blood

Matagumpay na isinagawa ng Local Government Unit ng Lal-lo sa pamumuno ni Hon Mayor Florence Oliver B. Pascual sa pamamagitan ng Lal-lo Rural Health Unit katuwang ang Cagayan Valley Medical Center- Blood Bank ang isang Blood Letting Activity ngayong araw, ika-30 ng Setyembre sa Lal-lo Multipurpose Center.

Layunin ng aktibidad na makatulong sa pagliligtas ng buhay sa pamamagitan ng boluntaryong pagbibigay ng dugo.

Nakapagtala ng 127 blood units sa aktibidad na ito na tiyak na makakatulong upang mapunan ang pangangailangan ng mga ospital at mga pasyenteng nangangailangan.

Lubos kaming nagpapasalamat sa lahat ng donor, katuwang, at boluntaryo na nagbahagi ng kanilang dugo at malasakit.

Ang aktibidad na ito ay patunay ng diwa ng bayanihan at pagkakaisa ng komunidad para matiyak na may sapat at ligtas na supply ng dugo para sa lahat ng nangangailangan.

ANUNSYO || 📣 BLOOD LETTING ACTIVITY

Inaanyayahan po namin ang lahat na makilahok sa Blood Letting Activity na gaganapin sa Setyembre 30, 2025 (Martes), mula 8:00 AM hanggang 3:00 PM sa Lal-lo Multipurpose Center.

Ang simpleng pagbibigay ng dugo ay malaking tulong upang makapagligtas ng buhay. Sama-sama tayong magbigay ng pag-asa at bagong pag-asa sa ating mga kapwa nangangailangan.

LOOK || Consultative Meeting on W.I.L.D. Diseases Held to Strengthen Local Health Response

A consultative meeting on W.I.L.D. Diseases (Water-borne, Influenza-like, Leptospirosis, and Dengue) was successfully conducted by the Provincial Health Office of Cagayan bringing together Barangay health officials and key stakeholders to strengthen local efforts in the fight against W.I.L.D Diseases

The meeting opened with the presentation of the Provincial Dengue Situational Report and the Importance of Dengue Reporting delivered by Ms. Bettina Bacuyag -DOH deployed staff, emphasizing the crucial role of timely and accurate surveillance in dengue prevention and control.

This was followed by the Municipal Dengue Situational Report and Recommendations presented by Mr. Nestor Santiago, Nurse III Epidemiology and Surveillance Coordinator highlighting the current dengue status in the municipality and outlining necessary steps to improve case management and reporting systems.

To reinforce preventive measures, Engr. Felizardo Taguiam led the discussion on Dengue Environmental Sanitation, Malaria Coordinator focusing on the importance of community participation in maintaining clean surroundings and eliminating mosquito breeding sites.

The consultative meeting was also graced by the presence of SB Member on Health, Hon. Jimmy C. Balatico, who actively attended and participated in the discussions, showing the strong support of the local legislative body in the implementation of health programs.

An open forum provided participants the opportunity to raise concerns, clarify procedures, and exchange ideas on how to enhance dengue surveillance and response. The meeting concluded with a photo opportunity and adjournment.

The activity underscored the commitment of the Municipal Health Office and its partners in safeguarding the health of the community through proactive dengue surveillance, reporting, and environmental management.

LOOK || Lal-lo RHU Health Emergency Respose team conducts Post Monitoring of Evacuation Centers, Provides Health Services

The Local Goverment Unit of Lal-lo headed by Hon. Mayor Florence Oliver B. Pascual together with the Lal-lo RHU, MDDRMO, MSWDO and National Government Agencies have carried out post monitoring in evacuation centers following the recent Super Typhoon Nando, ensuring the safety and well-being of displaced families.

The HERTs provided Medical consultations, medicine distribution and blood pressure monitoring, with priority given to vulnerable groups.

Coordination with barangay officials and partner agencies was likewise strengthened to ensure sustained support to evacuees.

Through these efforts, the RHU underscores its role as a frontline partner in disaster response, ensuring that public health remains a top priority in times of crisis.

The Department of Health – Cagayan Valley Center for Health Development mourns the passing of Ms. Evelyn Acluba, a retired Nurse V, who dedicated her life and career to the noble calling of public health service.
