On the Importance of Regular Eye Check-up

Ngayong Sight Saving Month, nais pong paalalahan ang lahat na hindi kailangang hintayin na makaramdam ng sintomas bago magpacheck-up ng mata. Mainam na may regular na check-up sa mata upang maalagaan at hindi magresulta sa mga sakit sa paningin.

Kumonsulta sa espesyalista sa mata kahit isang beses kada taon kung walang nararamdaman na sintomas.

Ngunit kung may napapansin na pamumula o pananakit ng mata, pagluluha, may lumulutang o floaters, panlalabo ng paningin o history ng trauma sa mata, agad na pumunta sa mga health facility at magpacheck-up upang maagapan ang posibleng problema sa mata.

AM I QUALIFIED TO GET A PWD CARD?

You have Visual Disability if your:
👁️ vision is 20/70 or worse in the better eye
👁️ field of vision is less than 20 degrees wide in the better eye
👁️ vision cannot be improved by eyeglasses, medication, or surgery

Only person with poor vision that cannot be corrected with eyeglasses, contact lenses, medication, or surgery are eligible for PWD card.

Using eyeglasses is NOT a basis for visual disability.

This is a public advisory from the Philippine Academy of Ophthalmology.
