The Local Government Unit of Laoang, through the Municipal Nutrition Office, successfully implemented the Orientation on CY 2026 FHSIS Indicators held at Royale Palm Hotel & Resort from March 20–21, 2026.

This two-day activity gathered dedicated health workers and stakeholders in a shared commitment to strengthen data management and improve the delivery of healthcare services in the community. The discussion of the indicators was facilitated by spokespersons from the Provincial Health Office, who provided valuable insights, guidance, and technical knowledge on the proper understanding, reporting, and utilization of FHSIS data.

Participants actively engaged in meaningful discussions, knowledge-sharing, and capacity-building sessions aimed at enhancing monitoring and evaluation of health programs. Through this initiative, the LGU of Laoang continues to empower its workforce in ensuring that health services are guided by accurate, reliable, and timely information.

The Municipal Health Office facilitated a Blood Letting Activity on March 28, 2026, as part of its continuing commitment to promote health, compassion, and community service.

Through the active participation of dedicated health workers from the MHO, volunteers, and community members, this meaningful activity was carried out successfully.

This initiative highlights the importance of blood donation in saving lives and supporting patients in need, emphasizing that even a simple act can make a significant difference.

𝐏𝐔𝐁𝐋𝐈𝐂 𝐀𝐍𝐍𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐂𝐄𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓

The Local Government Unit of Laoang informs the public that the Rural Health Unit (RHU) Birthing Facility will be temporarily closed from March 19 (5:00 PM) to March 21, 2026.

This temporary closure is necessary to allow RHU health personnel to attend a mandatory training on the Field Health Information System (FHSIS). This training is essential in improving data management and ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of public health reporting in our municipality.

In line with this, the RHU has already coordinated and requested assistance from Dr. G.B. Tan Memorial Hospital to ensure the continuous delivery of safe and quality healthcare services for all expectant mothers and newborns during the temporary closure.

We strongly advise all pregnant women who may be due within these dates to proceed directly to the said hospital or coordinate with their barangay health workers for proper guidance.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we continue to strengthen our healthcare services for the community. Thank you.

The Municipal Health Office of Laoang, in partnership with the Philippine Business for Social Progress, successfully conducted a Free Chest X-Ray and Tuberculosis (TB) Screening on March 2, 2026, at the Laoang Fishport.

The activity aimed to bring essential diagnostic services closer to the community, particularly to individuals who may have limited access to regular medical consultations. Through free chest x-rays and on-site TB screening, the initiative supported early detection of possible tuberculosis cases, enabling timely referral, proper management, and prevention of further transmission.

Health personnel from the Municipal Health Office facilitated the screening process, assisted clients throughout the activity, and provided health education on TB symptoms, prevention, and the importance of completing prescribed treatment. Participants were also guided on the next steps for follow-up evaluation when necessary.

The Municipal Health Office remains committed to strengthening tuberculosis control efforts and ensuring that accessible, preventive, and quality healthcare services are available to all Laoanganons.

🛑 𝐖𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐞 𝐒𝐲𝐦𝐩𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐬:
● Sustained high fever and severe headache
● Abdominal pain, diarrhea, or constipation
● Weakness and loss of appetite
