POV: Our work as Pediatricians is 80% inherently tied with grief or anxiety. Except for those who gave birth without any issues whatsoever and well baby checkes with no injection invovled or no worry or issue to address we see patients and their parents during intense, emotionally and physically charged moments.

In short, the most effective and effective geriatric intervention is BREASTFEEDING.

Well, that wasn't what the speaker said exactly. Pero that was the point. He said that an adult or geriatric illness was created and baked by circumstances during the entire lifetime. The 1st 1000 says set the foundations of whether disaster will occur and what point in the life time.

POV: since breastfeeding prevents and corrects epileptic changes for the worse, then breastfeeding halts the development or if the risks exist from the generations before (like smoking), it slows the progression of the looming illness.

Mao nang breastfeeding's greatest side effect is making healthy old people.

First 1000 days is until 24 months old sa baby. Mao na ang time sa epigenetic priming. Meaning ang ma hitabo sa baby from conception until mag 24 months old sya kay forever ang effect.

Important ang mga experiences, food, exposures, learning ani ka phase. We try to keep it healthy ans natural to the best of our ability. So at this time most parents (or hopefully?) Mag lessen sa additives sa food, like canned food or canned milk (also known as milk formula), lessen sa screen times, careful sa mga ingredients mga gi gamit nga butang.

PROTECTING KIDS’ HEALTH: REP. JESUS “JESS” MARQUEZ PUSHES HEALTHY FOOD ENVIRONMENT BILL

PLCPD welcomes the filing of House Bill 8515 or the “Healthy Food Environment Act” by Congressman Papa Jess Marquez last March 16. It is a proposed measure that squarely addresses the growing public health concern of unhealthy food marketing targeting children.

Grounded in the State’s obligation to uphold every child’s right to the 𝙝𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙚𝙨𝙩 𝙖𝙩𝙩𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙖𝙧𝙙 𝙤𝙛 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙩𝙝, the bill responds to alarming data: Childhood overweight and obesity rates in the Philippines have more than doubled over the past two decades* and are projected to rise further without decisive intervention**.

In line with global child rights and public health standards, the measure seeks to:

The bill introduces a comprehensive regulatory framework, including:

The bill mandates coordinated action across agencies such as the Department of Health, Department of Education, and local government units to:

- Establish “𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝘇𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀” promoting access to healthy food
- Integrate 𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘆 into education
- Ensure 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗹𝗶𝗰𝘁-𝗼𝗳-𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 in policymaking

Protecting children from harmful food and predatory marketing is a public health priority. It 𝘂𝗽𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗱𝘀 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻’𝘀 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀, 𝗲𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄, 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲.

Do you know who the priority groups of Republic Act 11148, “𝙆𝙖𝙡𝙪𝙨𝙪𝙜𝙖𝙣 𝙖𝙩 𝙉𝙪𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙨𝙮𝙤𝙣 𝙣𝙜 𝙈𝙖𝙜-𝙉𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙮 𝘼𝙘𝙩," are? Let’s learn more about Section 5: Coverage of this Act. 🧐

This Act covers those who are 𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆-𝗮𝘁-𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗸, especially pregnant and lactating women, particularly teenage mothers, women of reproductive age, adolescent girls, and all Filipino children aged 0-24 months old.

Priority shall be given to those who reside in disaster-prone areas and Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas (GIDA), such as areas that are isolated due to distance, inaccessibility to transportation, and weather conditions; unserved and underserved communities; and other areas identified to have high incidences of poverty; those persons belonging to vulnerable sectors; and communities in or recovering from situations of crisis or armed conflict and recognized as such by a government body.

The National Nutrition Council (NNC) shall prioritize local government units (LGUs) for their programs, projects, and activities (PPAs), which meet any of the following criteria:

a. With the highest prevalence of undernutrition (underweight, stunting, and wasting) and nutrient deficiency among pregnant women, lactating mothers, and 0-24-month-old children.

b. Availability of facilities or capability to implement the program.

c. Prioritizes such program in their locality and willingness to provide counterpart resources for its implementation.

The NNC Region X encourages the LGUs to plan and integrate the First 1000 Days (F1KD) of Life PPAs into their respective Local Nutrition Action Plans (LNAP), Local Development Plan (LDP), and Annual Investment Program (AIP). Further, LGUs must implement such health and nutrition PPAs targeting all pregnant women, lactating mothers, and 0-24-month-old children in the community.
