Congratulations to RHU Larena for Achieving Grand Slam Jose Rizal Award!

We proudly congratulate the Rural Health Unit (RHU) of Larena headed by Dr. Jemma M. Fortich for being a Grand Slam Awardee of the Jose Rizal Award during the Regional Blood Summit held on July 31, 2025, in Cebu City.

Larena secured 3rd Place in Region 7 for achieving 2.30% of the target for non-remunerated voluntary blood donations for the year 2024, contributing significantly to the attainment of the Department of Health – Central Visayas Center for Health Development (DOH-CVCHD) Mandates.

Jose Rizal Award is considered the most prestigious recognition for outstanding performance in voluntary blood donation advocacy and program implementation within the scope of the National Voluntary Blood Services Program (NVBSP) of the Department of Health (DOH)

The award was received on behalf of the municipality by Vice Mayor Jan Dean Villa and Dr. Jemma Fortich. This marks Larena’s third consecutive recognition, not only making history but also continuing its life-saving legacy.

Congratulations, Larena! Padayon sa serbisyo!
