🌿 Let’s talk about...
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝟱 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗲𝗻𝗼𝗽𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲
..because understanding your body is the first step to owning your power.
𝟭️ > 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝗼𝗽𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲
🌼𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘵 𝘪𝘴:
This is the stage 𝙗𝙚𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙚 any hormonal shifts begin. Your menstrual cycle is still regular, and estrogen and progesterone follow their usual monthly rhythm.
🌼𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘵 𝘧𝘦𝘦𝘭𝘴 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦:
🌸 No noticeable changes
🌸 Stable mood, energy, sleep, and periods
🌸 You’re still ovulating consistently
𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄:
Even though it’s rarely talked about, 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝗼𝗽𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 refers to your entire reproductive life before perimenopause — from your first period to when the subtle shifts begin.
𝟮️ > 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗻𝗼𝗽𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 (aka the 𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 zone)
🌼𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘵 𝘪𝘴:
The hormonal transition leading up to menopause. Estrogen and progesterone 𝙗𝙚𝙜𝙞𝙣 to fluctuate, triggering physical and emotional symptoms.
𝘛𝘺𝘱𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘣𝘦𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘴:
Ages 35 to 50, with the average onset in the mid-40s.
🌼𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘰𝘯 𝘴𝘪𝘨𝘯𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘴𝘺𝘮𝘱𝘵𝘰𝘮𝘴:
🌸 Irregular periods (shorter, longer, heavier, skipped)
🌸 Brain fog, mood swings, anxiety, or rage
🌸 Night sweats and sleep disturbances
🌸 Fatigue, weight changes, sensory sensitivity
🌸 Digestive shifts or food reactions
🌸 Low libido or vaginal dryness
𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄:
This phase can last 4 to 10 years. For a clinical diagnosis, period irregularity is key. Without it, it may just be hormonal imbalance — not perimenopause. 𝘚𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘭, 𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘤𝘬 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘖𝘉 𝘵𝘰 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘦 (though not all doctors are aware or will pursue a "perimenopause" diagnosis if your period is still intact).
𝟯️ > 𝗠𝗲𝗻𝗼𝗽𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 (the milestone moment)
🌼𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘵 𝘪𝘴:
The 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝗿 is when you’ve gone 𝟭𝟮 𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵𝘀 without a period — no spotting, no bleeding, no in-between. That one-year anniversary = 𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘰𝘱𝘢𝘶𝘴𝘦.
𝘈𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘨𝘦 𝘢𝘨𝘦:
Around 51
🌼𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘦𝘯𝘴:
🌸 Ovulation stops completely
🌸 Estrogen and progesterone production drops significantly
🌸 Many symptoms from perimenopause may continue or even peak here
𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄:
You don't go through menopause — you arrive 𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘁. It's one single point in time, 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗮 𝗽𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗲.
𝟰️ > 𝗣𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝗼𝗽𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲
🌼𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘵 𝘪𝘴:
Everything that comes 𝗮𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 menopause. It’s a new hormonal baseline — low estrogen becomes your body’s “new normal.”
🌼𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘴:
🌸 Some symptoms fade (hot flashes, mood swings)
🌸 Others may linger (vaginal dryness, sleep issues)
🌸 Higher risk for bone loss, heart issues, or UTIs due to low estrogen
𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄:
You stay postmenopausal for the rest of your life... but this stage can also bring clarity, confidence, and emotional freedom.
5️⃣ 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗠𝗲𝗻𝗼𝗽𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 / 𝗘𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝗠𝗲𝗻𝗼𝗽𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲
(This is actually a separate one. Not everyone experiences this part)
🌼𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘵 𝘪𝘴:
When menopause happens before age 40 (premature) or before age 45 (early), either naturally or due to surgery, chemotherapy, or health conditions.
🌼𝘒𝘦𝘺 𝘴𝘪𝘨𝘯𝘴:
🌸 Irregular or absent periods
🌸 Typical menopausal symptoms
🌸 Confirmed by blood tests (low estrogen, high FSH)
𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄:
It’s not uncommon — up to 1 in 100 women experience premature menopause
Medical support (like HRT or lifestyle changes) can help protect bone, heart, and mental health
𝗠𝗲𝗻𝗼𝗽𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 isn’t one moment — it’s a journey across 5 stages.
Whether you’re still cycling or haven't bled in years, each phase has its own wisdom, challenges, and power.
💛 Let’s 𝗻𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗲 every 𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙩 of the journey...
..from brain fog and rage to clarity and strength.
𝘞𝘩𝘪𝘤𝘩 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘨𝘦 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘪𝘯 𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘯𝘰𝘸? 𝘖𝘳 𝘸𝘩𝘪𝘤𝘩 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘱𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘦𝘥 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘰𝘴𝘵?
